Although late, thanks :-) The on-screen version for your document was
*much* more readable than the one I printed to read while on the bys,
with no CSS in order to make itbehave :)

Hi folks,

It's been a few days since my last message. I have added a print
style sheet, so one can use a free Browser (mozilla) to print the
position statement. I have added a couple of new examples, an
inchoate software documentation freedoms list, and I have started an
outline of the formal position statement at the top of the docs.
That should develop into the integrated position statement we'll put
 to vote.

The URL of the document is:
 http://people.debian.org/%7Esrivasta/Position_Statement.xhtml>

Hi,

I have updated the position summary page with responses from
RMS to some of the concerns (thanks to Bob Hilliard for bringing them
to my attention), added a nascent Overview section (which currently
only has links deeper into the page), and general spell check and a
few typographical corrections. I also removed a spurious font size
specification in the style sheet, which may make for easier reading
 for some folks.

Again, the document lives at:
 http://people.debian.org/%7Esrivasta/Position_Statement.xhtml>
or, if your browser balks ath the xml+xhtml mime type, at:
 http://people.debian.org/%7Esrivasta/Position_Statement.html>

Does anyone have suggestions for a pithy position blurb to be
 appended to the overview?

These are early days yet. We have just begun crafting this
document, I am hoping people on -legal, who have studied the gfdl,
would point out things missing, and add more concerete examples. The
URL has been posted on debian-devel, debian-legal, and debian-vote.
Anyone not reading any of these three lists probably does not want to
be bothered by this as such an early stage.

When the document is further advanced, and we are closer to
stating that we find the GFDL non free, I'll post again to -vote and
 -devel-announce.

Great work. But if this is supposed to be read by all dds it should
have gone to -announce, shouldn't it?
cu and- followed the respective discussions on -legal for some
time, but it is just repeating itself over and over
