Exim + Cyrus

2001-10-19 Thread Felipe Alvarez Harnecker

Hi All,

I got a mail system with exim + cyrus with cyrdeliver as LDA.

Supose the mailbox has 1 bytes of quota and it has 9000 used.

The actual behaviour is that if one message of say 2000 bytes arrives,
cyrus accept it, but since to delete a message, the user needs to move
the message to a trash folder, he can't cause' cyrus says "over quota"
and the user get stuck.

So, is it possible to configure cyrus to not accept the ofending
message if the operation get the mailbos over quota ?

Here you are right, if you want your users to login using the email
address you'd better go with LDAP or *sql . The real problem is
authentication, the rest is sht.

APC UPS-Pro 650 anyone ?

2000-11-04 Thread Felipe Alvarez Harnecker

Hi, im using PowerChute fromn APC. All works well except that the UPS
doesn't put itself to sleep, so it runs "On battery" forever.

I've tried the same ups an same cable with a WinBug box and all work
well.

So the choice are the Linux "powerChute" bugware or the serial port.

Anyone with success with this thing ?

Thax.

Nope, that doesn't help, and if you look at what exim is tryin to do

host in host_lookup? no (option unset)

(host_lookup is commented in exim.conf)

that shoudn't be the problem.

Exim delay at conection time

2000-10-31 Thread Felipe Alvarez Harnecker

Hi, having this problem i've tried this:

exim -bh 192.168.1.60 -oMi 192.168.1.200

SMTP testing session as if from host 192.168.1.60
 Not for real!

>>> host in host_lookup? no (option unset)
>>> host in host_reject? no (option unset)
>>> host in host_reject_recipients? no (option unset)
>>> host in auth_hosts? no (option unset)
>>> host in sender_unqualified_hosts? no (option unset)
>>> host in receiver_unqualified_hosts? no (option unset)
>>> host in helo_verify? no (option unset)
>>> host in helo_accept_junk_hosts? no (option unset)
220 dowjones.calalsa.cl ESMTP Exim 3.12 #1 Tue, 31 Oct 2000 13:04:18 -0300

As you can see it seems that no lookup is made by exim, but when the
real conection hapens from 192.168.1.60 ( and others ) i experience
about 25 seconds of delay.

PLEASE HELP, im having lot of complains about it.

Thanx.

smartlist

2000-10-10 Thread Felipe Alvarez Harnecker

Hi,

I got a SmartList nightmare here.

In short:

I've made a dist file by hand. Many emails are wrong and they bounced.

The prob. is that they bounced to list@mydomain but not at
mylist-request@mydomain here is an excerpt from a bounce:

X-Priority: 3
X-MSMail-Priority: Normal
X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 4.72.3110.5
X-MimeOLE: Produced By Microsoft MimeOLE V4.72.3110.3
Resent-Message-ID: <2ngtL.A.LhE.E5345@infinito>
Resent-From: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
X-Mailing-List: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> archive/latest/1
X-Loop: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Precedence: list
Resent-Sender: SmartList <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
Resent-Bcc:
Resent-Date: Tue, 10 Oct 2000 17:48:15 -0400

In the debian-isp the Resent-Sender is debian-isp-request. I guess
that is the main problem but i dont' know how to solve this. In the other
hand the $LIST_HOME/bounce directory doesn't exists . Is that a
problem or it is created on demad?

I'm using clean debian instalation.
