Re: qt 2.3.0-beta1
so...even though I'm going to get the crap beat out of me (already started on that)...I'm going to upload packages today. However somethings are yet again changing. :) As I keep trying to get the packages to conform to policy and whatnot I'm taking this opportunity to continue fixing things. Since the new version of QT is 2.3.0 and the package names have been libqt2.2, I've opted to go with libqt2 instead of libqt2.3. libqt2.2 would not make since since it's no longer 2.2.x and libqt2.3 also doesn't as it can't coexist with libqt2.2 and it's pointless to have 2 seperate packages. libqt2 is the proper name for it. Ivan where were you going to upload the packages for 2.3beta1? Can i apt-get em on unstable? Thanks for doing such i kickarse job :) dave

KNode and Startup Delay?
Whenever I begin the program KNode, there is a startup delay between the windows opening, clicking an a news group and the newsgroup actually being selected and displaying it's contents. This delay has been measured to be more than 20 seconds in some cases. Can someone provide information? This begins by clicking on the KNode icon. Approximately 20 seconds can elapse before any mouse clicks are interpreted and menus drop down. It seems to be doing some internal newsgroup consistency checking, but that's only my feeling. -- Robert Tilley [EMAIL PROTECTED]

There's a Netscape bookmarks submenu that has all my netscape bookmarks listed. I don't recall doing anything special to set it up, they are just there right out of the box. Version on kde.debian.net ?
Am I missing something? The web page at http://kde.debian.net claims that 2.1-final resides there under main. However, apt-get fails to download anything regarding main and a quick search there shows it does not currently exist. I was bit by upgrading my qt so my KDE desktop has not been working for a few days. I've read over the postings in the list archive that indicate this was to be fixed RSN. I'm looking for any solution here since this is a new box I built and I currently do not have a fully functional desktop environment. Any help much appreciated. Robert

xauth and 2.1
I'm running potato with XFree86 3.3.6, and just upgraded to kde 2.1. Dr. Konqi?
I crashed Konqueror. I was filing a bug report and wanted to double-check something so I used the Back button to return to the search page in the bug reporting wizard. I filled in a new subject and hit enter. This didn't work; I was taken to the final page of the bug reporting wizard instead of seeing a new set of search results. Then I opened a new window and clicked on the sample URL http://www.kde.org. Both Konqueror windows disappeared, but the usual KCrash window didn't appear. It's hard to say Trevor. It ran on kde 2.01, died on 2.1beta, came back to life on 2.1b2 and on 2.1! I just kinda shrugged and decided it didn't matter too much. I'm still dealing with the arts mega delay syndrome. I use xmms and it's happy with the xmmsarts pluggin, but I see movement on the display and finally sound follows between 2 to 3 seconds... If I use the esound or OSS pluggin, it is real time.. I think more developement will resolve this too. :) Good luck on your upgrade - hope it comes together well for you.
