gcc-3.2 transition
Now that it seems the gcc-3.2 transition has started (de facto at least, if not officially), I was wondering whether anybody else was working on doing it for QT/KDE yet. If not, what sources do you think I should use to do this? The geniussystems site still seems to be on 3.0.2, but as far as I know the 3.0.3 packages posted elsewhere are unofficial. For now, until I get an answer to this, I think I'll work on creating libqt3c-* (source package qt-x11-free-gcc3.2), and post a patch for that as a wishlist bug on qt-x11-free. Once I have compiled packages, I'll try to post them on people.debian.org. -- Daniel Schepler "Please don't disillusion me. I [EMAIL PROTECTED]haven't had breakfast yet." -- Orson Scott Card

Cannot apt-get to KDE 3.1beta1???
When I attempt to do an aptitude upgrade, the following dependcy problems occur: Preconfiguring packages ... (Reading database ... 153405 files and directories currently installed.) Preparing to replace kdelibs4 4:3.0.3-1 (using .../kdelibs4_4%3a3.0.7.cvs20020824-1_i386.deb) ... Something bad happened while installing packages. Any attempt to manually remove kdelibs4:3.0.3-1 so that the later version results in similar dependency problems. Any ideas? I'm itchin' to try the new eye candy. -- Comments and information are appreciated. Robert

I just extracted the files from the old package (you need libkjava.la and libkjava.so.1.0.0 ) (think it was from package kdelibs4 3.0.3) and copied them to /usr/lib/. Add the softlinks ( libkjava.so and libkjava.so.1 ) and run ldconfig. Nik
