Now for various reasons I'm running a somewhat mix-mash of a system, but here's the (hopefully) important ones, that might be of some assistance to the package maintainers (or sommebody maybe): ii kdebase2.2.2-11 KDE core applications ii kdebase-libs 2.2.2-11 KDE libraries and modules for kdebase ii kdelibs3 2.2.2-9KDE core libraries (runtime files) ii kdelibs3-bin 2.2.2-10 KDE core binaries (binary files) ii kdewallpapers 2.2.2-12 Some wallpapers for KDE ii libqt2 2.3.1-17 Qt GUI Library (runtime version). ii libpng21.0.12-3 PNG library - runtime ii libpng31.2.1-1PNG library - runtime ii kdm2.2.2-11 The K Desktop Manager ii konsole2.2.2-11 X terminal emulation for KDE *Now* - the funny thing is, when I log into KDE as root I *do* get the icons! No other users get icons (ie. libpng errors are more serious). I think I downloaded the unstable debs by mistake, rather than the testing ones. I'd *really* rather not have to download another 14MB on my 56k line tonight! Trevor

Seems I spoke a bit too soon. The actual symptoms I have are: KMail, which starts from the saved state of my KDE login, has no icons. Konqueror, which also starts from the saved state, does have icons, but when I start a new konq from the command line, it has no icons, but hte one started from the panel does?!? Also, I seem to be missing the start-up splash screen, with the big KDE and the progress report of KDE's startup. I only have a single vertical line, similar to a cursor in the middle of nothingness? For the moment, this is not hindering me too much, I jsut have to use the menu items for kmail rather than the icons, but I'll wait until this is fixed before I upgrade again. Cheers, John Gay

Cheers, John Gay My only problem so far seems to be KDevelop. No icons, no response to the Class browser panel (i.e. I click on a class to open and it doesn't open), also no tabs (I run it in tabframe mode usually), and... hmm... think that's it. And the libpng2 fix took care of all of these, thankfully.
