Nack. It does not happen on any of my machines and the modul themself have no loop which can cause that. It is more likely that something in udev tries to load the module several times. Please provide the output of ps aux; change /etc/udev/hotplug.rules, uncomment the last line and post the resulting /dev/hotplug.log. Also you may run udevmonitor during that. Anyone has any particular stuff they would like included before -6 is released ? Or otherwise comments on this tentative deadline ? I'd like to re-enable building atari images for m68k, 2.6.18 with some patches is working on atari again and we might even haven two new drivers for network hardware (one of those is working on our uberfast Falcons already, they other one might, but we are still waiting for the hardware, that's how new it is). Unfortunately I am a little handicapped right now and I also managed to shoot down my atari, so it might be a little difficult to test, once I have the patches sorted out. This would not change anything with the existing m68k images, it would just (re-)add another one, which means we have to go through new, but we have to anyhow because of the abi change? Well, if you can send the patches, and they build, they can be included, and tested at a later time, and fixed if fixing is needed. There's no reason that 2.6.18-6 would need to be the last kernel upload for etch, but given that we appear to be bound by an ABI change for LSB reasons, there is a very good reason to get 2.6.18-6 uploaded sooner rather than later so that other packages depending on the kernel ABI version (including d-i) can be updated. If you have time to get these fixes in by Sven's suggested deadline, I would welcome them. Otherwise, I would strongly encourage the kernel team to push 2.6.18-6 out and defer the amiga changes until -7. Bug#399113: xen kernel infinite loop processing core dump
Package: linux-image-2.6.18-2-xen-686 Version: 2.6.18-5 Severity: critical Executing program crash with core dumps enabled (ulimit -c unlimited) results in kernel looping the following message: Bad pte = 0033e0a0, process = crash, vm_flags = 100070, vaddr = b7602000 [c0144b5d] vm_normal_page+0x98/0xb0 [c0145116] follow_page+0xe8/0x182 [c0146b49] get_user_pages+0x288/0x2f1 [c017b1db] elf_Core_dump+0x972/0xb4b [c015ee74] do_coredump+0x4a8/0x4fc [c012399c] dequeue_signal+0x15/0x9c [c0123fed] get_signal_to_deliver+0x39e/0x3d0 [c0103ee7] do_notify_resume+0x71/0x5e9 [c0156153] __fput+0x11c/0x13f [c0151fd6] kmem_cache_free+0x44/0x7d [c0110b5a] do_page_fault+0x39f/0x7c8 [c012449f] sys_rt_sigprocmask+0x4b/0xc5 [c012449f] sys_rt_sigprocmask+0x4b/0xc5 [c01048b5] work_notifysig+0x13/0x1a repeats infinitely The program aborts and dumps core without issue with the kernel from linux-image-2.6.18-2-686. The system is a Sarge machine with enough packages pulled from unstable to install xen-linux-system-2.6.18-2-xen-686. I have triggered the problem both in Dom0 and a DomU, on both real hardware (opteron) and inside VMWare (p4). gcc crash.c -o crash -ldl -lpthread crash.c (any library appears to work equivalently in the dlopen): - #include dlfcn.h #include pthread.h #include stdlib.h #include unistd.h void* crash(void* arg) { dlopen(libm.so.6, RTLD_LAZY); abort(); return 0; } int main(int argc, char** argv) { pthread_t t; pthread_create(t, NULL, crash, NULL); while (1) { usleep(10); } return (0); }
Re: preparation for 2.6.18-6 kernel upload on monday 20th of november 2006.

As you may know, or not, we are waiting for the abi-breaking 2.6.18-6 to be uploaded for pushing the 2.6.18 kernel into etch. It seems 2.6.18.3 is announced for saturday, so this would mean a natural tentative schedule of let's say monday the 20th of november 2006 as upload date. Is there any comment on this ? Anyone has any particular stuff they would like included before -6 is released ? Or otherwise comments on this tentative deadline ? reopen 397863 thanks yes kernel-package added this new dep, should be explicit on newer images. Incorrect, this part of the k-p code is not used. This is a communication problem. auto-pending script fixed
I just realized that the bts-mark-pending script had quit working. When alioth.d.o. svn.d.o. got merged, my alioth home dir was kept which means it was using an old/broken version of this script. I copied the new version back into place, so commits that close bugs should automatically get marked pending again. -- dann frazier -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
