Bug#695492: CIFS mount hangs after not using it for a while

Seems like the same problem here.
Linux guest (VirtualBox) trying to access a Windows share (on host,
Windows 7).

Linux kernel is v3.8 from experimental running on wheezy.

Same issue occurs for the stable kernel from wheezy:
# dpkg -p linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae
Package: linux-image-3.2.0-4-686-pae
Priority: optional
Section: kernel

I can easily reproduce the problem by not making use of the share for
some time.

Please let me know if you need other info.
(BTW, the problem didn't occur for linux-2.6 on squeeze).

Bug#688846: Rebuilding initramfs seems to be sufficient

2013-05-07 Thread Florian Boelstler
Hi,

just came across the same issue.

Luckily linux-image-2.6.32-5-686 from squeeze was still installed.
An update of initramfs using "update-initramfs -u -k 3.2.0-4-486" while
running 2.6.32 appears to have solved the problem. I've not modified
/etc/initramfs-tools/modules (file is still empty).
(dm-crypt based installation was initially setup using Lenny d-i)

I don't think #678636 is related.

Cheers,

  Florian

Bug#268621: Reproducable in parts

2005-01-16 Thread Florian Boelstler
Hi,
just want to mention that I can reproduce the problem with a kernel
built from kernel-source-2.6.8-12 using:
"cdda2wav -t 1 dev=ATA:1,0,0"
and
"cdda2wav -t 1 dev=ATAPI:0,0,0"

However it does not occur when I specify the device as
cdda2wav -t 1 dev=/dev/hdc
I can also state that "paranoia mode" takes more time however my CPU
consumption stays calm.

Device is a LG GSA-4040B.
HTH,
   Florian

Thanks.

However this seems quite strange to me. Enable PCI on a 386 to get
serial and parallel ports running :)

Package: kernel-source-2.4.27
Version: 2.4.27-5
Severity: normal

CONFIG_PARPORT_PC and CONFIG_PARPORT works without problems.
Adding CONFIG_PARPORT_SERIAL=y triggers the problem:

# make dep bzImage

Also reported for kernel-source-2.4.26.

The kernel config is quite small and most of it built into the kernel.
It happens during the build for an i386 system, whereas the kernel build is
done on Athlon/TB system.

My kernel config:
http://paste.phpfi.com/29539
The same was used for kernel-source-2.4.26 and "converted" using "make
oldconfig" for the use of kernel-source-2.4.27.

2004-06-28 Thread Florian Boelstler
Package: kernel-source-2.6.6
Version: 2.6.6-2

I was trying to build a kernel with "Adaptec AIC7xxx Fast -> U160
support" (CONFIG_SCSI_AIC7xxx).
"Build Adapter firmware Kernel Build" (CONFIG_AIC7xxx_BUILD_FIRMWARE)
was enabled. (Probably the problem?)
Did "make oldconfig" before (by using my old .config from
