I just got a blank screen which does not response to any key press. I have to turn off the power. This happens on a IBM Thinkpad T43 with the non-free ATI driver fglrx 8.20.8-1. If it does then we need to solve the problem, if not then file a bug whereever you found your unsupported driver. - Jonas Thanks Jonas, but this driver is provided by debian, now. http://packages.debian.org/unstable/x11/fglrx-driver I'm not really competent enough to judge whether this problem is related to the kernel or the driver (or both) but I did not run into this problem with the older 2.6.12 kernel (driver compiled from same source using m-a). I looked at various logs and that's what I found. If it's not related to the kernel, I can file it against the driver.
