:-)

debian-kernel-maint?

on second thought, we run in the problem that Debian these days
supports more than one kernel, which already lead to changes of
package names.

debian-kernel-bugs ?

If this is to hold the bug reports, it is more logical. The debian-kernel is
by definition a devel list, so having d-k-fdevel in addition will probabluy be
confusing.

Well; the idea was that this list was open to all debian kernels, not just the
linux ones. This didn'r really happen though, but i think it is still true.

The point is to *keep* d-k the bug report list instead of trying to
re-route the bug reports for all kernels released ever.

A good point, still i worry, debian-kernel doesn't sound like a bug mailing
list, so newcomers may be surprised.

Maybe start using debian-kernel-bugs and debian-kernel-devel, and let
debian-kernel become unused (and redirect it to debian-kernel-bugs or
something.

On the other hand, maybe we should just promote proper procmail rules to
filter out bug reports :)

It is not intended as a bug-only mailing list. d-k will still remain a
primary point of contact for the kernel team for users. And discussions
on d-k-devel are not going to be of much interest to anyone outside the
kernel team.

Please do not make it more complicated than necessary. The current setup
is fine, we just need a list with a bit less traffic to discuss the
development issues.

2006-05-14 Thread Jurij Smakov

Hello listmasters,

I believe that we have settled all the issues regarding the request for
creation of debian-kernel-devel. In spite of that, no comments from
listmasters have been received since April 17th, and no visible action has
been taken. Is there still some kind of showstopper?
