I did both which resulted in:

$ cat .gitconfig
[url "g...@salsa.debian.org:"]
pushInsteadOf = https://salsa.debian.org/
insteadOf = salsa:

and works for git ... but not for gbp. It works perfectly on my other
computers but not on this one so I think some additional gbp config is
needed. (I had no time to seek for this yet.)

Kind regards

You followed the instructions for "You can also use a shortcut for all
Salsa repositories:" from the Wiki page you linked. That shortcut is
"salsa:"

If you want to rewrite https://salsa.debian.org, you should follow the
instructions before that.

Just checking: git behaves properly as expected and ends up with
  salsa:team/package.git
as URL.

I'm using the same ssh key.

Seems to be the reason - I seek tomorrow for more ideas
if nobody else can give a hint.

Thanks a lot

Odd git clone URL, might be due magic from gbp.

That 'salsa:' string should be a valid `git clone` URL.

I have peeked at http://losc.nl/Breda/maint.html
which has a known working "pushInsteadOf"

  (Give a copy of (new) ssh pub key to Salsa)
* `gbp` doing magic things

Hi Hilmar,

My suggestion is always to use "releases" instead of "tags". Also, you
should use uversionmangle instead of filenamemangle.

version=4
opts=uversionmangle=s/-//g \
https://github.com/TeXworks/manual/releases archive/(\d\S+)\.tar\.gz

No pushable pushable ssh URLs for Salsa

2021-01-28 Thread Andreas Tille
Hi,

I had no problems to clone from salsa for since the beginning. It works
on several computers I have. On a newly installed Laptop I copied all
my configurations from a computer that works perfectly in the sense that

   gbp clone salsa:team/package

creates a .git/config containing

[remote "origin"]
url = g...@salsa.debian.org:team/package.git

as it should be to be able to push. Great. However, on that new
laptop I get

[remote "origin"]
url = https://salsa.debian.org/team/package.git

I closely followed the salsa documentation[1] and did

   git config --global url."g...@salsa.debian.org:".insteadOf salsa:

(which created the entry in ~/.gitconfig

[url "g...@salsa.debian.org:"]
pushInsteadOf = https://salsa.debian.org/
insteadOf = salsa:

So all seems as expected - but the URL is not replaced and I need
to manually change the URL in cloned repositories. The laptop
in question is running an up to date testing.

Any idea what I might missing?

Kind regards

   Andreas.

[d/watch] Need to modify name of upstream tar ball

2021-01-28 Thread Hilmar Preuße

Hi,

short question for debian/watch.

Our local version name of upstream tar ball is mmdd.tar.xz. In
upstream the naming is -mm-dd.tar.xz . I've built a watch file,
which correctly finds the new tar ball [1], but the comparison to
version in Debian determines that the version in Debian is more recent:

uscan info: Filename (filenamemangled) for downloaded file:
manual-2020-03-29.tar.gz

uscan debug: line: cmp_versions()
uscan info: Newest version of texworks-manual on remote site is
2020-03-29, local version is 20150506

uscan info: => Only older package available from:
 =>
https://github.com/TeXworks/manual/archive/2020-03-29.tar.gz

I have to remove the - from the file name. How do I do this?

Many thanks!
  Hilmar
