I would like to update Monit on my server, but unfortunately the latest package that I find for Debian Wheezy is v5.4-2. It would be awesome of you could update it. The reason I am asking is that if we do this upload to unstable and later we find an annoying important bug (i.e. severity important), then we can no longer fix it for Wheezy[1]. Looks like there is testing-proposed-updates for that, isn't? --8-- Rule #5. If the version in unstable already includes significant changes not related to the bug to be fixed, contact the release team about uploading to testing-proposed-updates. You seem to misunderstand the DM status. I don't think so, but thank you for explanation. It is not a Debian Developer Lite. It does not mean you, as a DM, are trusted to upload any given package to Debian at any time. It just a meaningless thing for now. See below. If you got DM status you can earn trust of a sponsor for a _particular_ package by getting upload rights for that package only. This means, your sponsor trusts you to upload and manage _this particular_ package all alone. It does not mean, he trusts you to manage any package. Thus, you need to start from scratch for every new package again and convince any sponsor of a that package again that you're deserving upload rights for that package. That's also why many people are upset if DMs set the DMUA flag for the very first upload themselves. For example, that was not a very first upload (of mod_rpaf) for me. But next time I should convince new sponsor and so on. At the end, there is a lot of Linux distributions. did you think about a solution for RC bug #629896? Apparently upstream is not interested to fix the issue right now. You would need to replace select(2) by poll(2) or something even more efficiently. I'm unsure if it's RC at all. I'll try to fix this that way on next upload, but it seems better to 1) lower #629896's priority to important 2) document workarround's (e.g. see Stefan's reply, php-memcached also seems to be an option) 3) leave real decision on how to fix to upstream The problem occurs to both of your source packages, php-memcached and php-memcache. This is a bit short. You could say for example that you can limit bandwidth by IP and by user agent, have different bandwidth management for large and small files and depending on file types. Moreover, it supports virtual hosts. I have added this sentence: The bandwidth control, for example, can be configured according to the criteria: origin of the connection, file extension, file size or user agent of the client. ftp-master won't find that php-geoip has changed to 3.01. You should at least add a link to the CVS change in debian/copyright. Well, debian/copyright already contain the 3.01 version of the license. Is it not enougth? Or should I package CVS version of php-geoip?
