I have worked with Marius Gripsgard on Lomiri upstream and Lomiri packaging for Debian and also the package btop for 18 months and I consider them as having sufficient technical competence. For the past 18 months, I have worked with Marius Gripsgard on getting the Lomiri operating environment into Debian. Marius mainly worked on the upstream side providing Lomiri components that build and work on Debian unstable. He is a very skilled C++ and Qt/QML developer. As Lomiri is the operating environment in Ubuntu Touch (which Marius is a core developer of), Marius has excellent expertise on creating and maintaining DEB packages. Under my supervision he will now start translating this expertise to official Debian packaging. I have personally worked with Marius Gripsgard (key 9BAE683E99C32552D76F9E83BAF9CEC3F6922789) for 18 months, and I know Marius Gripsgard can be trusted to have upload rights for his own packages, right now.
