I wanted to build kpilot from sources. Running ./configure showed the message:
-- No KDE PIM development headers were found.
Therefore I wanted to install kdepim-dev. The problem now is that kdepim-dev
has a dependency on kpilot which I just deinstalled!
I really do not understand why some header files are dependant on a user space
program...

$ dpkg -L kdepim-dev | grep pilot
/usr/lib/libkpilot.la
/usr/include/kde/kpilot
/usr/include/kde/kpilot/pilotSerialDatabase.h
/usr/include/kde/kpilot/pilotLocalDatabase.h

/usr/include/kde/kpilot/kpilotlink.h
/usr/include/kde/kpilot/kpilotlocallink.h
/usr/include/kde/kpilot/pluginfactory.h
/usr/lib/libkpilot.so

You need the kpilot program if you want to have any use of these headers.

As long as you compile kpilot from source and install in a different prefix,
there should be no problems having kpilot installed.

There is no bug here. Closing.

Hi,

Using Skype 1.4 with latest qt4 libs and having 2 screens connected by xinerama
in nvidia driver, I get all balloon-helps on the first screen only (skype is on
the second screen).

Tested with qdbusviewer and there (if qdbusviewer is on the second screen) even
the menudropdowns appear on the first screen.

Might this be related to the following change:

  * Apply qt-copy patches:
* 00_0172-prefer-xrandr-over-xinerama: only trust libxinerama if it is not
the emulated information coming from xrandr 1.2.

If you need any help in testing this issue, I am very happy to test stuff.

Thanks
Philipp

Bug#437153: Empty folder list with GroupDav(citadel)

2007-08-10 Thread baal88
Package: kontact
Version: 4:3.5.7-2
Severity: normal

--- Please enter the report below this line. ---

Kontact is not able to list the folders associated with my
Citadel(http://www.citadel.org)-account. Trying to add an account fails with
a empty folder list(meaning no calendar, todos, contacts).
I attach a strace-log from the kio-slave trying to fetch the list.

What other information could be useful?

I've tried with two accounts(on the citadel-server).

Bug#437091: kpilotDaemon hangs when "usb:" is used as handheld device

2007-08-10 Thread Ivan Zaera Avellon
Subject: kpilotDaemon hangs when "usb:" is used as handheld device
Package: kpilot
Version: 4:3.5.5.dfsg.1-6
Severity: critical
Justification: breaks unrelated software

*** Please type your report below this line ***

When kpilotDaemon is run having configured "usb:" as the handheld device
(instead of /dev/ttyUSB0 or similar),
kpilotDaemon hangs on a nanosleep call. This causes:

- kpilotDaemon icon in system tray appear transparent (totally empty square)
- KPilot stop with progress bar indicating 10% of sync (if kpilotDaemon is
launched by kdeinit)
- KPilot hang if kpilotDaemon was not previously launched and KPilot has to
launch it

And the "critical" issue:

- Any other program which tries to contact kpilotDaemon hangs. For example:
kdcop

I can send straces or anything else you ask for.

The only reason why I filed this bug critical is that it can make other
packages hang, but I don't consider it a
critical issue as I have not found any other program, apart from kdcop,
hanging. Perhaps severity can be lowered, I
don't know Debian policies about this type of bugs.

Thanks in advance.

   I've already splited scim-brodge into scom-brodge-agent
   scim-brodge-client-gtk, scim-bridge-client-qt, and scim-bridge(a

support, so shall I split it into five?

Is there any significant difference between the two to give a reason to
justify having both?

QT4 and QT3 immodules should be separated.
I think "scim-bridge" can be combined with -agent or -client-gtk.
Maybe "scim-bridge" and *-gtk, *-qt3, *-qt4?
Thus they will still be 4 packages.

Bug#437053: qt3-examples unusable without modification

2007-08-10 Thread Andreas Pakulat
Package: qt3-examples
Version: 3:3.3.7-6
Severity: normal

Hi,

the qt3 examples that are nowadays shipped in this package are not
buildable without extra effort. The reason is that they set additional
REQUIRED variable which only works in the qt3 buildtree, but not if you
run qmake on any example's .pro file.

That variable has to be stripped from the example's .pro file by the
developer which is clearly beyond people that start using qt3, else
they'll get an error during make saying:
@echo "Some of the required modules (full-config) are not available."
@echo "Skipped."

So this should happen during packaging the examples.

hi,

it's a bug. at least, it must be easy to reproduce and fix it.

> Can kde4 be installed along side kde3.5.7 or does it require a chroot
> environment.

no, kde4 can't be installed along side kde3.5.7. just kdelibs so far.

> Currently, I think what kubuntu does is install kde4 in /usr/lib/kde4 and
> sets up the required environment variables.

kubuntu have a shorter release time, they need to have kde3 and kde4
co-installable, not us. So far, the plan is to have kdelibs/kdepimlibs
co-installable.

cheers,

Fathi
