Bug#719271: konsole: default window size

2013-08-09 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: konsole
Version: 4:4.8.4-3
Severity: wishlist

Dear Maintainer,

It would be very useful if konsole had a command-line option
or configuration item that specifies its default window size
(in terms of columns times lines). It would make konsole more
usable on a non-KDE environment. (I'm using LXDE but find konsole
the best terminal emulator.)

Currently, neither --geometry or --vt_sz works.

Regards,
Ryo

Bug#631343: kdebase-runtime: knotify4 100% CPU

2011-06-22 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kdebase-runtime

I often find knotify4 processes each consuming 100% of CPU time.
Is there anything I can do to diagnose the problem?

Bug#581589: kdebase-runtime: unclear on how to create useful crash reports

2010-05-13 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kdebase-runtime
Version: 4:4.3.4-2
Severity: normal

I was told: Please read _How to create useful crash reports_ . . .
So, I clicked on the link. At the linked webpage, I was told:

Debian - Debian offers -dbg packages to easy create useful
backtraces. Just install the corresponding -dbg package.
e.g. kdepim-dbg for KMail crashes.

But I don't know what the corresponding -dpg package is for konsole.
There is no konsole-dpg .

Cheers,
Ryo

Bug#566251: korganizer: korganizer doesn't start

2010-04-27 Thread Ryo Furue
Hi

Marcus wrote:
The problem was the config file korganizerrc. I deleted it and

configuration but it must have been a combination.

I was hit by the same issue and found this discussion in an Ubuntu forum:

  http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1366119

Following NicoDietrich's advice in the discussion, I deleted just
one line Holidays=us from ~/.kde/share/config/korganizerrc ,
and the problem was gone.

Oh, and I'm using the testing distribution of Debian. I upgrade
it daily.

Hope this helps,

Bug#508574: korganizer: reminder shows past events; suspend doesn't work.

2008-12-17 Thread Ryo Furue
| 1. The reminder pops up 15 minutes prior to an event (that's my usual
| setting), but sometimes shows a few past events together with the
| imminent one.
|
| 2. The suspend functionality is unavailable. The button is blacked
| out and not pressable.

The problem has just occurred, so that I'm able to provide a more
detailed description of it.

The reminder showed two events, one scheduled at 12/12/2008 14:00
(about a week before) and the other scheduled at 12/17/2008 12:00
(fifteen minutes in the future).

Initially, the past event was highlighted and the Suspend, Edit,
and Dismiss buttons were blacked out. When I clicked on the future
event, all the four buttons became available. When I next clicked the
Suspend button, the future event disappeared from the reminder, but
the past event remained and only the Dismiss all button remained
available.

A practical problem is that the reminder window remains on top of
every other window: Even if you click on another window, you can't
raise it above KOrganizer's reminder. All you can do is to click
on the Dismiss all button to remove the reminder. But then,
you loose the suspend functionality for the imminent (future)
event.

Bug#508574: korganizer: reminder shows past events; suspend doesn't work.

2008-12-12 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: korganizer
Version: 4:3.5.9-5
Severity: important

I have the following two problems:

1. The reminder pops up 15 minutes prior to an event (that's my usual
setting), but sometimes shows a few past events together with the
  imminent one.

2. The suspend functionality is unavailable. The button is blacked
  out and not pressable.

These two problems started when the reminder window was heavily upgraded
half a year or so ago. Before the upgrade, the reminder popup was
small and showed only one event, and when you pressed the suspend
button, it slept for 5 minutes and then woke up to alarm the user again.
Now the popup window is larger and shows more than one event.

Hope this helps,
Ryo

Bug#465193: kicker: Changing command changes icon

2008-02-10 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kicker
Version: 4:3.5.8.dfsg.1-2
Severity: normal

1. Suppose that you add emacs22 to the KDE panel by right-clicking and
choosing Add Application to Panel. The icon is that of emacs22.

2. Right-click on the newly-created icon and choose Configure
   Emacs 22 (X11) Button . . .;

3. Go to the Application panel and change Command
   from /usr/bin/emacs22 to
   env [EMAIL PROTECTED] /usr/bin/emacs22 ,
   and click on OK.

4. Then, the icon on the panel changes!

How should one recover the original icon? Searching around, I
eventually found it's

  /usr/share/emacs/22.1/etc/images/icons/emacs_48.png

but that was painful. I hope this behavior will be fixed.

Ryo

Bug#462583: kword: wrong foreground color

2008-01-25 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: kword
Version: 1:1.6.3-3+lenny1
Severity: normal

I set the KDE background colors to dark gray and foreground colors to
white. kword uses my background color but not my foreground. The
result is black text on dark gray, which is hard to see. I think if
you use the KDE background, then you should use the KDE foreground,
too; and if you ignore the foreground, then you should ignore the
background, too. (For example, the Writer of OpenOffice ignores the
KDE colors and simply shows black text on a white background, which is
good.)

I know a workaround is to customize colors in kword (not tested,
though), but I think the default behavior should better be fixed.

By the way, I tried to submit this bug to the KDE bug tracking system,
but it didn't allow me to proceed on the ground that Debian's KDE
(version 3.4.3, right?) is too old.

Best regards,
Ryo

Bug#444800: konsole: tab color be linked with system color

2007-09-30 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: konsole
Version: 4:3.5.7-4
Severity: wishlist

Hi, I thought it would be nice if the color of the
tab text be taken from the KDE system colors when
the System Colors schema is chosen.

Currently, the System Colors schema changes all
colors except for that of the tab text. So, if your
system color scheme uses dark background, the tab text
of konsole is hard to read.

Best regards,
Ryo

Bug#392994: konsole: bold changes color instead of going bold

2006-10-14 Thread Ryo Furue
Package: konsole
Version: 4:3.5.4-2
Severity: normal

I use the Digital CDE color scheme in
the Appearance Themes Colors panel of the KDE
Control Center, and I use the System Colors schema
in konsole. Then, fonts which are supposed to be bold
come out as non-bold and black. Black is hard to read
on the dark blue background of the color scheme.
man man demonstrates the problem.

Thank you for your attention,
Ryo
