Please retry qt-x11-free 3.3.8b-2 on alpha mips

2008-02-20 Thread Modestas Vainius
Hello,

It would be great if you could retry qt-x11-free 3.3.8b-2 builds on alpha and
mips. Previous builds failed due to non obvious reasons[1] which don't seem
to be architecture specific (unless I'm missing something).

I think it would be better to fix qt-x11-free not to fail to build
randomly?

Well, qt-x11-free 3.3.8b-2, which is supposed to end qt3 built with -O0 life
cycle in Debian, migration to testing is part of the bigger plan. qt-x11-free
3.3.8b-3 will be built with optimizations (-O2) and will lose over 5700
inline debug symbols (which, as we expect [1], do not matter). So 3.3.8b-3
should enter unstable ASAP to see if transition is really not needed.
3.3.8b-2 in testing will stay as safety fallback for users in case of
problems with -3.

Give back lam on alpha

2008-02-20 Thread Kumar Appaiah
Dear Debian Release,

Since gcc on alpha was affected by #442036, lam FTBFSed due to an ICE
on alpha. The recent upload of gfortran+gcc-4.3 yesterday (gcc-4.3
4.3-20080219-1) should have fixed this problem, since another affected
package seems to have built there. Under the event that this version
of gfortran will be available for the alpha buildd, please give back
lam on alpha. Following this, the binNMUs I had requested for other
lam related packages[1] may also need to be redone for alpha alone.

Following lam, hdf5 also needs to be given back. Therefore, please
specify if I need to mail you again for that.

Thanks!

Kumar
