I have done my eleven of these thirteen for i386 and just uploaded them.
I goofed once [ quadprog ] and uploaded without a proper binNMU version
number, which I then corrected but it sorts lower. We'll see what the
 installer run yields.

Scheduled binNMUs for s390.

 Hi,

unfortunately I missed that the generated binary dependencies of python
packages differ depending on the default version and accidentally
uploaded ll-xist built in an unclean (with respect to the default python
version) chroot, making it uninstallable on i386 (only).
As such, I would appreciate if you could schedule above binNMU.

Scheduled.

 packages.

There is no need to do such binNMUs[0] manually. Of course it takes a
bit of load away from the buildds if you do that, but in return there
are no build logs in the central database. The binNMUs are scheduled by
Release Team members with access to wanna-build, our central build
management tool.

Kind regards,

[stable] glibc upload to a fix a bug in nscd

2008-03-11 Thread Aurelien Jarno
Hi stable release managers,

As it seems the rule is to have a new glibc in each stable release ;),
we would like to fix bugs #451552/#467609, which prevent nscd to be
used to cache hosts. The patch to fix it is a backport from CVS, and the
backport has already been tested by a few persons.

Would you allow an upload of glibc with this fix into stable?

Thanks,
Aurelien

Ah, you learn something new every day :-/. Oh well. Maybe this reaches Chris
in time to reward his procrastination as I send my 11 eleven packages up and
Steffen followed with an upload of qtl.

Thanks for the cluebat!

2008-03-11 Thread Aurelien Jarno
Hi,

Could you please schedule the following binNMUs for the libftdi
transition:

ftdi-eeprom_0.2-8, Rebuild against libftdi1, 1, alpha amd64 armel arm hppa i386
ia64 m68k mips mipsel powerpc s390 sparc
openocd_0.0+r423-1, Rebuild against libftdi1, 1, alpha amd64 arm i386 ia64
mipsel powerpc s390 sparc

Both packages build fine with the new library.

Thanks,
Aurelien

I've noticed several people now submitting binNMU requests this way; can
you tell me if there's something on the wiki page that could be made
 clearer?

You're right, and the example shows it clearly, but I quickly cut'n'pasted
arch list from rmadison output and forgot to remove commas. I've added a two
line note about that on the wiki page, feel free to improve the English if
required.

bump buildd priority for ldm due to security bug?

2008-03-11 Thread vagrant
ldm is fairly low in the buildd queues for several architectures,
possibly because it is priority: extra? it is affected by #469462, a
nasty RC and security bug.

would it be acceptible to increase it's priority in the buildd queues so
that this bugfix can migrate to testing faster?

it was mentioned as a possibility when i posted to the
secure-testing-team list:

http://lists.alioth.debian.org/pipermail/secure-testing-team/2008-March/001527.html

thanks!

live well,
  vagrant
