Please unblock manpages-pl/20060617-2

Hi,

Could you please allow manpages-pl/20060617-2 to propagate to testing?
The package contains documentation only, it's almost 20 days old and
fixes a few outstanding bugs and a bunch of lintian (or in fact lexgrog)
warnings, what increased quality of the man pages, but made diff
longer and possibly harder to review. Since the previous version
(20060617-1) of the package included empty diff.gz, the Debian Patch
Tracking page at
http://patch-tracking.debian.net/package/manpages-pl/20060617-2
contains all the patches introduced in the latest version. You might
find it easier to review the changes with the page (anyway, most of them
either one-liners fixes for invalid nroff tags, e.g. [1] or multi-line
fixes for invalid comments, e.g. [2]; there's a one exception - the acct
page [3], whose translation was partially updated).

Changelog:

 manpages-pl  (20060617-2) unstable; urgency=low

   * Remove man pages for chkfontpath (closes: #501032) and pwauth
(LP#275990).
   * Correct acct(5) and chmod(1) translations (closes: #407723, #506205).
   * Fix typo in gawk(1).
   * Don't install linda override files (lintian).
   * Add `set -e' to postinst scripts (lintian).
   * Various man pages: fix `manpage-has-errors-from-man' lintian warnings.
   * Set debhelper compat level to 7.
   * Standards-Version: 3.8.0.

Well, I was going to fix the regression, not the bug completely.

Please don't put it in the release notes yet. I'm fixing this really soon,
probably tomorrow.

I'll believe it when I see it :)

This has been 'fixed' many times, and it seems to be non-trivial. If we
*do* end up with a fix, that'll be great; the RC bug gets closed (yay!).

If not, I don't want to delay the release over it as we'll be putting it
in the release notes (#511440).

However, ccing -release so a RM can override my decision if they want.

request for simple-cdd freeze exception

2009-01-12 Thread Vagrant Cascadian
i intend to upload a version of simple-cdd that works with the recent debian-cd
upload targeted for lenny. a diff of planned changes is attached.

please review if it would be acceptible for a freeze exception.

simple-cdd (0.3.9) unstable; urgency=low

  * depend on debian-cd >= 3.1.0
  * update task and exclude handling to support newer versions of debian-cd.
  * set MAXISOS and MAXJIGDOS used in newer versions of debian-cd.
  * only download installer when DI_WWW_HOME is not set, as debian-cd will
handle it.
  * fix BOOT_TIMEOUT parameter.
  * debian/control: use proper Vcs-* header.
  * update architecture specific kernel selection.
  * ensure that relevent linux-image-2.6-* packages are also installed, as
changes to linux-image metapackages do not pull in linux-image-2.6-* by
default, which causes debian-installer to ask which kernel to install.
  * exit if being run as root. add --force-root commandline option to override.
  * profile updates:
- ltsp:
  + include commented out example to enable DHCP server
  + remove packages no longer needed
- vserver:
  + ensure that a vserver capable kernel is installed
  + install util-vserver and debootstrap by default
  + lower vserver-debiantools to an optional package

Hello,

I have a attached patch that address two serious usability issues in
moinmoin wiki (which happens to run on wiki.d.o ... where we had
complaints from users).

The changes are explained in the mail I sent to the maintainer:

Would this change be accepted, if we were to upload a new package
to stable-proposed-updates ?

Thanks in advance,

Please unblock debian-cd

2009-01-12 Thread Frans Pop
(Resend with proper address for the list.)

Hi,

I've just uploaded a new version of debian-cd which will be used to build
CD images for Lenny, so please

unblock debian-cd/3.1.0

As the new version contains a few structural changes to improve support
for installing various desktop environments [1], packages that use
debian-cd may now be broken.

You can therefore also expect an update very soon of simple-cdd, which
will also be targeted at Lenny.

We may do one more upload of debian-cd after D-I RC2 has been released,
but that should have only relatively minor changes.

Cheers,
FJP

Unblock Easytag

2009-01-12 Thread Bertrand Marc
Hi,

I just noticed that Easytag has an "Unblock request by freeze-exception
ignored due to version mismatch". It seems that there was an unblock request
for version 2.1.4-1, but since the last NMU, there is a version mismatch and
easytag can't make it to Lenny.

Since there has been only an NMU closing a bug, I was wondering if you could
consider updating the unblock request to 2.1.4-1.1. It would be a shame if
Easytag was not in Lenny.

Bertrand

could you please reconsider jack 0.116.0? According to [1], upstream
suggests that "nobody should be using 0.109.2", the version we currently
have in testing.

Moreover it would really help packages like xine-lib and others (58
packages in total) that build-depend on libjack-dev to migrate to
testing.

If you are stating clearly that you reject the new upstream version, we
can consider reverting the package in unstable. However this would be,
as explained above, against upstream's suggestion..
