 Hi!

Hello!

As you very well explain, gnome-main-menu also provides the libslab0
library, so gnome-main-menu can’t be just removed from testing to allow
for this transition to happen, since that would render gnome-control-center
  uninstallable.

Philipp said on IRC, that a partial removal of gnome-main-menu was
possible, i.e. keep the binary packages libslab(0,-dev), which have no
libnm-util dependencies and only remove the binary package
gnome-main-menu. He also advised to contact debian-release about that.
I guess I should have mentioned that ;-)

That’s a very, very gross hack (because it’s not supported in britney
proper), and I’d rather not do it unless the status of things start
becoming unacceptable.

Julian, given that the gnome-main-menu has acknowledged somebody taking
over maintenance of the package, can you give us an estimate date for an
upload of 0.9.12?

Thanks!,

   * plan for libjack0.100.0-0: there are 11 source packages left with
dependencies on this old library. No sourceful uploads are needed
for this: once you’ve gotten back to me that the plan is good, I
will provide you with a list of packages and schedule Bin-NMUs; then
you can do some work of checking if they built successfully
everywhere, filing bugs, etc. Once all of them have been rebuilt
(which will make them depend on libjack0), please check with us that
they’ve migrated to testing, and at that point libjack0.100.0-0 can
     be dropped.

  Sounds good?

Amsynth will require a sourceful upload, since the dependency is not
generated by dpkg-shlibdeps because it dlopens libjack. It is the only
 one I saw.

I’ve scheduled Bin-NMUs for this, for all packages except amsynth. You
can check for build-failures here: http://bit.ly/zLyiK, and for progress
of their migration here: https://buildd.debian.org/transitions/summary.html.

As mentioned above, please check with us before dropping the
libjack0.100.0-0 package.

Cheers,

I expect that a binary NMU for amd64 will solve the problem.

The -dev package is Architecture: all, so you'll need a sourceful upload
AFAICT.

Thanks, I see it is already there:

I am just curious, why there was no mail notification generated by Debian
 testing watch?

Testing watch mails are sent out once a day (at 16h UTC). The transition
just missed it by a couple hours, so it’ll get sent in today’s run.
Phil, is it cheap enough that we could run it after each dinstall?

Otherwise, I think it is safe to upload libmtp_0.3.7-2 to unstable now,
isn't it? Version 0.3.7-1 has been in experimental since a while.

Yes.

In order not to spam the list I adjusted the footer to state the fact
that it's only run once a day. I don't think we want one mail per dinstall.

[SRM] Possible update for nss

2009-04-06 Thread Mike Hommey
Hi,

Bug #509930 makes nss crash on sparc (as reported on our BTS) and ia64
(as reported upstream). It has the bad side effect to make iceweasel and
anything using nss OCSP check. I'm currently uploading a fix to unstable,
but I think it would be a good thing to have this fix in stable, too.

You'll find the (small) patch below. It comes from upstream, as stated
in the changelog, and is safe, as the structure is purely internal to
the library.

What do you think?
