No plan yet, but how long does it need to be in sid to satisfy this wish?

I'm going to follow a two-track process here: I'm uploading the proposed
update of openldap to squeeze with the fix for #596343 backed out, and
propose an NMU to sid for the latter. If that has been accepted and aged
long enough (?) then I may create another update for stable.

unblocking busybox for -testing

2011-05-31 Thread Michael Tokarev
Hello.

Can you please unblock busybox 1:1.18.4-2 upload to go
from unstable to testing? It has been in unstable for
a long time already, and the only problem found so far
has been fixed in subsequent upload.

It's a new upstream version upload, so the changes are
somewhat large for such a delicate target as debian-
installer (the busybox-udeb flavour of it), but we tried
to be very careful to not break things.

I already got an ACK from Otavio Salvador on debian-boot@,
http://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2011/05/msg00374.html
(msgid BANLkTikzcFiP48__G=2fg1oqweh-zcy...@mail.gmail.com).

There are other, less drastic, changes for busybox pending
too, but I'd love to have some point release before
processing further.

Thank you!

[SRM] Update for apt-listchanges

2011-05-31 Thread Michael Biebl
Hi,

I'd like to upload the following changes for apt-listchanges to stable:

apt-listchanges (2.85.7+squeeze1) stable; urgency=low

  [ Sandro Tosi ]
  * Don't skip the very first entry when the NEWS file is added; thanks to Ryo
IGARASHI for the report and to Robert Luberda for the patch; Closes: #590541

  [ Michael Biebl ]
  * Upload to stable.

 -- Sandro Tosi mo...@debian.org Tue, 31 May 2011 11:57:14 +0200

The complete debdiff is attached. It is basically the 2.85.8 upload, Sandro
kindly made for unstable, minus the tranlation updates.

Without this fix, apt-listchanges will silently skip NEWS files for packages
which only have a single NEWS entry during a squeeze→wheezy upgrade. That's why
I think it's important to get this fix into the next stable point release.

Please let me know if I can go on with the upload.

Thanks,
Michael

Hi!

I've uploaded the new release of libquicktime to experimental and I'd like to
upload it to unstable too.
Although the SONAME has been bumped I think no porting is needed, so a rebuild
might be the solution for most packages affected by this:

dvgrab
gem
gmerlin
kino
mlt
pdp
smilutils
xawtv

Please let me know when I can start the transition.
Thanks in advance.

nmu ocp_1:0.1.20-1 . ALL . -m 'Rebuild against new adplug.'

Thanks.

No plan yet, but how long does it need to be in sid to satisfy this wish?

I'm going to follow a two-track process here: I'm uploading the proposed
update of openldap to squeeze with the fix for #596343 backed out, and

Thanks; I've marked that package for acceptance at the next dinstall.

propose an NMU to sid for the latter. If that has been accepted and aged
long enough (?) then I may create another update for stable.

Okay. I've made a note to keep an eye out for a possible unstable
upload.

As mentioned on oss-sec, it would be nice if this didn't write to a
predictable filename. From the stable update point-of-view though, I
realise that's not a regression relative to the current lenny / squeeze
  versions.

It is not of relevance for current pre-init usage, as you don't have
unpriviliged users there, but it will get fixed upstream, by making the
 used dir an optional switch.

Thanks for the update.

concerning oldstable only the first one should be fixed.
   ipconfig has deeper troubles there.

if acked by SRM I'd upload a klibc-1.5.20-2 with just the 2 aboves fixes

I'd appreciate debdiffs for a final check before the uploads, but the

do you mean belows output of debdiff on the dsc files?
belows is for stable, oldstable will follow once this is acked.

Something very much like that, yes. :-) Please go ahead with the stable
upload; thanks. (Ugh at the debian-changes auto-patch, but that's not
a regression from the current squeeze package, so never mind.)

  Hi,
Please consider #598361 for the next stable point-release. Fix is
  already in unstable.

Please don't make such requests by cloning + reassigning - or, if you
 do:

 - cc debian-release on your mail, otherwise all we get is the result of
 the control@ commands

#598361 is fixed in openldap 2.4.23-7.1, which will be in
proposed-updates after the next dinstall.
