CC me, I'm not subscribed to d-release (saw this in the archives).

As I see it there are three options:
* Fix in Sid and request a freeze exception for Wheezy. For
reference the current debian/changelog between Wheezy and Sid

* Fix in Sid and upload a specific fix for Wheezy via t-p-u.
* Fix in Sid but not Wheezy.

My guess is that the release team would prefer the second or third
  options but please advise.

Not wearing a RT hat but I think you can safely bet for option 2. My
suggestion is then to prepare the update for t-p-u and then request
for pre-approval through a bug report against release.d.o

Good advice, thanks.

Please unblock package icu 4.8.1.1-10. This fixes severity important
bug #687339. The issue is trivial: the libicu-dev package failed to
install pkg-config files. I upgraded the priority of the bug to
important since, without pkg-config files, there is a potential for a
downstream package to work on other distributions that properly include
these files but not to work on debian, which accidentally omits them.
Since this is a very small, low-risk change on a priority optional
package that fixes an important bug and that can go into wheezy
through unstable, I believe it should be eligible for an unblock
request. The debdiff is attached. Thanks for considering it.

The attached patch should apply to the wheezy and sid versions; squeeze
may need some backporting at least for the testcases, and the perl package
needs filename modifications due to the different directory structure.

The sid and wheezy versions of libcgi-pm-perl have diverged, so
I suppose this needs to go in wheezy via tpu.

As both bugs are important rather than RC, neither a t-p-u upload
for libcgi-pm-perl nor an upload for perl including this would
qualify for migration to testing under the tightened up freeze policy[1],
so CCing debian-release for opinions from their side.

Cheers,
Dominic.

Bug#693611: unblock: xen-api/1.3.2-13

2012-11-18 Thread Thomas Goirand
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Hi,

I have uploaded xen-api/1.3.2-13, which corrects 2 things:
the hostname change script was designed by CentOS, so I've
fixed that, and also, the init script was hanging waiting
forever if the xen-api host was a slave node, so I added
a test in the init script, thanks to a patch from the bug
reporter (who helped a lot fixing lots of issues).

Please unblock xen-api/1.3.2-13.

Cheers,

Thomas Goirand (zigo)

P.S: I still hope that upstream will fix #678723, which
is the most annoying remaining bug in this package. Appart
from this remaining one, I don't think more bugfix in this
package will be needed before Wheezy. XCP is otherwise
perfectly functional, IMO.

Subject: debian: use YAML as platform-independent .git/svn/.caches format

On 32-bit arches, attempts to use git svn fetch on repositories
cloned using older perl currently produce

Byte order is not compatible at ../../lib/Storable.pm (autosplit
into ../../lib/auto/Storable/_retrieve.al) line 380, at
/usr/share/perl/5.12/Memoize/Storable.pm line 21

because the byteorder changed from 1234 to 12345678 when perl's
use64bit compile-time option was enabled.

Wait --- isn't Memoize::Storable's nstore option supposed to shield
users from such changing platform details? Unfortunately the 'nstore'
option has no effect due to a typo in its implementation (bug#677292).

Rather than coming up with a transition plan to account for git
repositories shared between machines with and without a fix to that
bug, let's move away from Memoize::Storable completely. A patch
applied upstream in 1.7.11 teaches 'git svn' to use libyaml when
available to read and write its caches under a new filename with a
simpler, platform-independent format. The Debian packaging can
complete the fix by adding a run-time dependency by git-svn on
libyaml-perl.

Upstream knows about this issue, promised a fix which won't be easy as
I can remember. Now they are busy with releasing 1.3.0 and a bugfix
branch of 1.2.0 . Don't know exactly if it's included, but will ping
  them.

 Any news on that?
Nope. :( Upstream is still busy on how 1.3.0 should be released. I
don't get any answer as of yet.

Asking about upload permission of -3 targeting Wheezy with the attached
changes.
Fixes four RC bugs. The first one is that couchdb needs some time to
stop. Added three seconds wait time to stop in initscript and to postrm
(the latter comes from Ubuntu). Otherwise couchdb can't be restarted and
can't be purged.
The rundir is now created with the help of 'install', only if it doesn't
existed before.
Last, but not least the logrotate configuration is fixed. Now creates
and rotates logfiles as couchdb.

Laszlo/GCS

ignored: IMHO, Clean up still describes the change itself, rather
than the reason why it is reasonable, which is, I think, as important.

20121114 has not been uploaded to unstable, yet, so I had some time to
rebuild and include an additional note, today:

* Update mozilla/certdata.txt to version 1.86  Closes: #683728
  - Replace legacy no explicit trust flag of CKT_NSS_TRUST_UNKNOWN for
CKT_NSS_MUST_VERIFY_TRUST, instead of a mix of both flags:
https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=757189
This upstream fix does not change the CA certificates installed in
ca-certificates as both flags are ignored. Only those CA certificates
with the CKT_NSS_TRUSTED_DELEGATOR flag in certdata.txt are installed.

I hope that helps with some clarity for that upstream change. :)

Bug#693654: unblock: doc-linux-fr/2012.11-1

2012-11-18 Thread David Prévot
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org

Please unblock package doc-linux-fr

It fixes an important bug (#691570 that is blocking mirror removal), and
updates the (translated) documentation.

The attached diff skips the HOWTO/ update, and the two debian/ files
that were simply converted to UTF-8. The debian/rules changes are
related to the “refresh” target, only used to update the documentation
from upstream.

unblock doc-linux-fr/2012.11-1

Thanks in advance, regards.

Bug#682172: unblock: couchdb/1.2.0-2

Fixes four RC bugs. The first one is that couchdb needs some time to

 can't be purged.

Such sleeps are really icky.
Who says 3 seconds are enough?
That entirely depends on your hardware and in what situation your system
is in (load, etc).

If couchdb -d, which is used on stop, does not block until the server
has been safely shutdown, then this needs to be fixed, properly.

Agree. That's an other thing upstream should fix. However I don't think
that would happen soon, at least not for Wheezy. I'll ask about it.
Until then this sleep may fixes the majority (maybe all) of the
problems.

Unfortunately there has not been a stable release on the 5.1.y branch

  - not adding any new features

  - documenting the relationship to upstream (patches applied

 Looks fine.

Uploaded. Thanks again for the review and followup.
