Lots of present fixes are more than needed to have an usable version of php in production. Such comments really aren't that helpful. It's entirely possible to have an usable version of php in production using the current package in wheezy, or it wouldn't have made it in to wheezy in the first place and no-one would have been using it on stable systems for the past year. (That's not to say that some people aren't adversely affected by issues in the current package, but that's far from your claim that it's generally unusable.) I realise you've put a lot of effort in to the patch, and that's obviously appreciated, but a diff for stable of the size 46 files changed, 4303 insertions(+), 372 deletions(-) where most of the diff appears to be actual changes (as opposed to translations, or autogenerated files) is non-trivial to review, particularly when people are already short on time. :( Regards, Adam -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. As a reminder all these fixes are (easy) backports from upstream. I've also included these fixes in my production servers which are including thousands of php processes. The result seems quite good reducing the overall number of crashes; my two cents. Bug#744377: transition: sip-api-11.0
Package: release.debian.org User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: transition Dear Release Team, The latest release of sip4 package (available in experimental) has a new major API version (11.0 compared to 10.1), so all packages that depend on sip-api-* or sip-py3api-* should be rebuilt to pick up new dependency names. Here is a list of source packages that should be binNMUed (the only difference from the list of previous transition, #707239, is serna which no longer exists): avogadro calibre pykde4 pyqt5 pyqwt3d pyqwt5 python-poppler-qt4 python-qt4 qgis qscintilla2 veusz For python-qt4 and pyqt5, I can alternatively do a normal upload based on the version in experimental. There is also python-ball package, which depends on an ancient sip-api version, but it FTBFS for a long time (and is not in testing). I did not rebuilt all the packages myself, but there was a similar transition in Ubuntu some time ago, and all packages except ball built fine there. -- Dmitry Shachnev signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature

Bug#744718: pu: samba4/4.0.0~beta2+dfsg1-3.2+deb7u1
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: wheezy User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu Dear release team, The attached patch removes the samba4 binary package. Please accept it for wheezy, even though it's clear that this is not a nice option. The samba4 source package in wheezy contains a beta version of samba 4.0. Most samba functionality is disabled in this package, because it is provided by the samba package (version 3.6.6) in wheezy. Only the samba AD DC functionality is enabled, but it is severely limited. There is no security support for this beta version of samba. It is vulnerable to a number of public issues. The samba4 package in wheezy is not suitable for usage in a production environment. It should not have been released with wheezy. With this patch, the samba4 package is removed. Removing the samba4 source package with all associated binary packages is not really an option, as there are some packages in wheezy that depend on the libs provided by samba4 (most notably evolution-mapi). The patch adds a conflict on samba4 to the samba4-common-bin binary package. On dist-upgrade, apt-get proposes to remove the samba4 package. Thanks in advance. Bug#744730: wheezy-pu: package mozilla-noscript/2.6.8.19-1~deb7u1
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: wheezy User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu Hi, As reported in #740539, the noscript version currently in stable does not work properly with iceweasel 24 from stable-security. I’d like you to consider accepting the (rebuilt in Wheezy) version currently available in Jessie and Sid, known to work with iceweasel 24 and 17. I’m happy to provide an actual debdiff, but given how insanely huge those 4,2MB are, I’ll just inform you of the diffstat last line as a start: 451 files changed, 49402 insertions(+), 33998 deletions(-) I’m sorry to ask for such a request again, but it seems like the less ugly way to handle the new ESR-support of iceweasel in stable… I just had to change the JavaScript compressor used at build time to build the package in stable, so here is the debdiff against the unstable version. Thanks (a lot) in advance for considering. Regards David P.-S.: As for firebug and sage-extension, the greasemonkey version from unstable is not compatible with iceweasel 17, so I’m not yet bugging you to accept a #739023 “fix” for this point release. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (500, 'oldstable'), (100, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-trunk-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash diff -Nru mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/changelog mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/changelog --- mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/changelog 2014-03-30 16:52:40.0 -0400 +++ mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/changelog 2014-04-13 18:25:32.0 -0400 @@ -1,3 +1,13 @@ +mozilla-noscript (2.6.8.19-1~deb7u1) wheezy; urgency=medium + + * Team upload + * Use yui-compressor instead of node-uglify, since node-uglify is not +available in stable + * Upload compatible version with recent iceweasel to stable +(Closes: #740539) + + -- David Prévot taf...@debian.org Sun, 13 Apr 2014 18:24:37 -0400 + mozilla-noscript (2.6.8.19-1) unstable; urgency=medium * Team upload diff -Nru mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/control mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/control --- mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/control 2014-03-30 16:07:46.0 -0400 +++ mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/control 2014-04-13 18:22:00.0 -0400 @@ -3,7 +3,7 @@ Priority: optional Maintainer: Debian Mozilla Extension Maintainers pkg-mozext-maintain...@lists.alioth.debian.org Uploaders: Damyan Ivanov d...@debian.org, Jérémy Bobbio lu...@debian.org -Build-Depends: debhelper (= 8), mozilla-devscripts, node-uglify +Build-Depends: debhelper (= 8), mozilla-devscripts, yui-compressor Standards-Version: 3.9.5 Homepage: http://noscript.net/ Vcs-Browser: http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-mozext/noscript.git diff -Nru mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/rules mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/rules --- mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/rules 2014-03-30 16:32:01.0 -0400 +++ mozilla-noscript-2.6.8.19/debian/rules 2014-04-13 18:22:22.0 -0400 @@ -3,7 +3,7 @@ dh $@ --with xul-ext --buildsystem=xul_ext --parallel override_dh_auto_build: - uglifyjs -o \ + yui-compressor -o \ chrome/noscript.jar!/content/noscript/antlr.js \ debian/antlr3-all.js dh_auto_build -O--buildsystem=xul_ext -O--parallel signature.asc Description: Digital signature

Re: Fwd: New upstream releases 8.4.21 and 9.1.13 for stables
Adam D. Barratt [2014-04-13 18:07 +0100]: Thanks. I've flagged the squeeze and 9.1 uploads for acceptance; unfortunately, the wheezy 8.4 upload got rejected: postgresql-plperl-8.4_8.4.21-0wheezy1_amd64.deb: trying to install to stable-new, but could not find source Right. I saw that, and tried to re-upload, but then that got rejected as postgresql-plperl-8.4_8.4.21-0wheezy1_amd64.deb was already present. But it wasn't in /UploadQueue/ any more, but somewhere in limbo. I hope it got cleared up now, reuploaded. Sorry for the hitch. slapd upgrade failure (lenny-2.4.23-7.3)
tags 705109 confirmed thanks Hi Jens, Christian, any subscribers, Thanks for reporting this bug, which unfortunately still exists. The last snapshot which still contains 2.4.23-7.3 and can be used to upgrade from lenny to squeeze is: http://snapshot.debian.org/archive/debian/20130223T095106Z/ Starting from 20130223T120419Z, 2.4.23-7.3 is in squeeze. Upgrading to that snapshot, and then to current squeeze, does work. CCing the release team for an opinion: at this late time, would it be reasonable to prepare an update for squeeze to try to fix the regression? If not, can you recommend a place to add documentation about using snapshot.debian.org for a successful slapd upgrade? thanks, Ryan -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
