Well, the changelog wasn't very detailed for 2.9.2 either. :-) I realise that the changes are in the unstable package (I checked that first), I was more interested in the rationale, particularly for the optimisation change. Bug#776890: jessie-pu: package tbb/4.2~20140122-1.1
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal Tags: jessie User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: pu Hello, I would like to update the version of libtbb2 in Jessie to match a recent upload in Sid: tbb/4.2~20140122-5 The reasoning being that: * The -1.1 version incorrectly attempts to build for all architectures rather than the ones that can actually build. This was fixed in -5 * There is a bug whereby the i386 architecture package does not build correctly. This was fixed in -2. * There is another bug preventing ppc32 from working correctly (fixed in -4) I have also fixed the unit test logic (fixed in -3), and cleaned up the build logic s.t. the unit tests aren't executed twice (fixed in -4). I didn't notice that build failures were blocking my versions of tbb from getting into Jessie. Many apologies for missing the freeze for Jessie, and landing you with this bugreport. It was complete incompetence on my part. (I'm still learning the ropes of Debian packaging.) Please let me know if you need any information, or would like me to make another upload? Bug#776839: unblock: libgit2/0.21.3-1.1
Package: release.debian.org Severity: normal User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Please unblock package libgit2 The newer version of the libgit2 package fixes a security hole [0]. Sorry I realise that this is the second unblock request for this package. But at the time of the previous request I did not think that the vulnerability met the requirements for an unblock request. I have since been contacted by the Debian security team and asked to submit an unblock request. I haven't split out the fix into a separate patch on the existing package in jessie as it's probably not super easy. But i can do it if it's required. I have not inculded a debdiff since it's 182K but I can attach it if needed. 0. https://security-tracker.debian.org/tracker/CVE-2014-9390 unblock libgit2/0.21.3-1.1 -- System Information: Debian Release: 8.0 APT prefers unstable APT policy: (990, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.16.0-4-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_AU.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_AU.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. CVE-2014-9328. - Compensate a crash due to incorrect compiler optimization when handling crafted petite packer files. This issue was discovered by Sebastian Andrzej Siewior. The diff is huge and I didn't see a reasonable way to reduce it (I'll try if I must), but I don't think it's a productive use of time for me to produce it or you to review it. I'll attach it in a follow-on to the bug so that this one makes it to the list. unblock clamav/0.98.6+dfsg-1 -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-release-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Bug#776875: unblock: libmspack/0.5-1
Package: release.debian.org User: release.debian@packages.debian.org Usertags: unblock Severity: normal Coin, Well, i hope it's gonna be the end of this wonderful saga. Sorry again for the late unblock request. The latest two uploads of libmspack patched a few security-sensitive bugs and were unblocked. Unfortunately several other bugs were found afterwards. I had been in touch with the author and he has been very cooperative. All these fixes were included and the other bugs were fixed as well. He made them all into a new fix-only release and it looked appropriate for a Debian upload. The debdiff is attached, a bit longer because the documentation was regenerated and autostuff were rebuilt (but with dh-autoreconf in the loop, it should not have any impact). Regards. Someone else also spotted the issue and it should be fixed within the next few hours (it's fixed in the archive itself, but we need to wait for the regular archive maintenance run to finish and then push the fix out to the mirrors).
