These are directly picked from the 2.9.2 upload, which stuck for RC

Please unblock package git/1:2.1.4-2.1.

This version of git changes an interest trigger to a
interest-noawait, which breaks a trigger cycle (#774607 / #774803).
According to jenkins.debian.net, this is our last known actual
trigger cycle[1].

Thanks,
~Niels

[1] In contrast to the APT/dpkg/dbus trigger issue, which is not
caused by a trigger cycle.

Hello release team, and pound maintainers (copied via X-Debbugs-Cc).

The wheezy version of pound has a nasty bug that breaks HTTP → HTTPS
redirects for URL's that contain the '=' character , what is arguably
quite common.

I would like to fix this with the attached debdiff.

Bug#776890: jessie-pu: package tbb/4.2~20140122-1.1

2015-02-02 Thread Steve Capper
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
Tags: jessie
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: pu

Hello,
I would like to update the version of libtbb2 in Jessie to match a recent
upload in Sid:
tbb/4.2~20140122-5

The reasoning being that:
 * The -1.1 version incorrectly attempts to build for all architectures rather
than the ones that can actually build. This was fixed in -5

 * There is a bug whereby the i386 architecture package does not build
correctly. This was fixed in -2.

 * There is another bug preventing ppc32 from working correctly (fixed in -4)

I have also fixed the unit test logic (fixed in -3), and cleaned up the build
logic s.t. the unit tests aren't executed twice (fixed in -4).

I didn't notice that build failures were blocking my versions of tbb from
getting into Jessie.

Many apologies for missing the freeze for Jessie, and landing you with this
bugreport. It was complete incompetence on my part. (I'm still learning the
ropes of Debian packaging.)

Please let me know if you need any information, or would like me to make
another upload?

Thank you,
--

Bug#776839: unblock: libgit2/0.21.3-1.1

2015-02-02 Thread Russell Sim
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Please unblock package libgit2

The newer version of the libgit2 package fixes a security hole [0].

Sorry I realise that this is the second unblock request for this
package. But at the time of the previous request I did not think that
the vulnerability met the requirements for an unblock request. I have
since been contacted by the Debian security team and asked to submit
an unblock request.

I haven't split out the fix into a separate patch on the existing
package in jessie as it's probably not super easy. But i can do it if
it's required. I have not inculded a debdiff since it's 182K but I
can attach it if needed.

Bug#776900: unblock: linux-tools/3.16-3

Please unblock package linux-tools

- Build a linux-tools-3.16 package for arm64
- Ensure that we don't accidentally link perf against libbfd, which
has an incompatible licence. This is only happening in

  in jessie/sid.

Hello release team, and pound maintainers (copied via X-Debbugs-Cc).

The wheezy version of pound has a nasty bug that breaks HTTP → HTTPS

 quite common.

That's correct, I'm preparing an upload for jessie. If I upload the
same fix to unstable, it would be unblocked?

I'd be inclined to do so assuming it was in the near future, yes. Please
file a separate unblock bug for that.

That happened now, so please feel free to go ahead with the p-u upload
(bearing in mind that the window for getting fixes in to the 7.8 point
release closes during this weekend).

Sorry, it fell through the cracks. I've uploaded it now, better late
than never.

Flagged for acceptance.

Adam

Could you expand on the rationale for introducing those now?
Particularly as neither appears to be mentioned in the changelogs for
the uploads to unstable.

These are directly picked from the 2.9.2 upload, which stuck for RC
bug. At that time the change was quite big (major release) so those
aren't documented in very detail but are in the git for quite some
time.

Well, the changelog wasn't very detailed for 2.9.2 either. :-)

I realise that the changes are in the unstable package (I checked that
first), I was more interested in the rationale, particularly for the
optimisation change.

Adam

It's more about a changing attitude on speed/space trade of -O2 and
-O3, and more and more apps are using -O3 for release build (e.g.
CMake default). If release team believe that's not desired in Jessie,
I can keep it out of the way.

Bug#776870: unblock: clamav/0.98.6+dfsg-1

2015-02-02 Thread Scott Kitterman
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Please unblock package clamav

New upstream release with security fixes. Here is the upstream NEWS:

ClamAV 0.98.6 is a bug fix release correcting the following:

- library shared object revisions.
- installation issues on some Mac OS X and FreeBSD platforms.
- includes a patch from Sebastian Andrzej Siewior making
ClamAV pid files compatible with systemd.
- Fix a heap out of bounds condition with crafted Yoda's
crypter files. This issue was discovered by Felix Groebert
  of the Google Security Team.
- Fix a heap out of bounds condition with crafted mew packer
files. This issue was discovered by Felix Groebert of the
  Google Security Team.
- Fix a heap out of bounds condition with crafted upx packer
files. This issue was discovered by Kevin Szkudlapski of
  Quarkslab.
- Fix a heap out of bounds condition with crafted upack packer
files. This issue was discovered by Sebastian Andrzej Siewior.
  CVE-2014-9328.
- Compensate a crash due to incorrect compiler optimization when
handling crafted petite packer files. This issue was discovered
  by Sebastian Andrzej Siewior.

The diff is huge and I didn't see a reasonable way to reduce it (I'll try if I
must), but I don't think it's a productive use of time for me to produce it or
you to review it. I'll attach it in a follow-on to the bug so that this one
makes it to the list.

Bug#776875: unblock: libmspack/0.5-1

2015-02-02 Thread duck

Package: release.debian.org
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock
Severity: normal

Coin,

Well, i hope it's gonna be the end of this wonderful saga. Sorry again
for the late unblock request.

The latest two uploads of libmspack patched a few security-sensitive
bugs and were unblocked. Unfortunately several other bugs were found
afterwards. I had been in touch with the author and he has been very
cooperative. All these fixes were included and the other bugs were fixed
as well. He made them all into a new fix-only release and it looked
appropriate for a Debian upload. The debdiff is attached, a bit longer
because the documentation was regenerated and autostuff were rebuilt
(but with dh-autoreconf in the loop, it should not have any impact).

Regards.

Command:
  unblock libmspack/0.5-1

Thanks for letting us know.

Someone else also spotted the issue and it should be fixed within the
next few hours (it's fixed in the archive itself, but we need to wait
for the regular archive maintenance run to finish and then push the fix
out to the mirrors).

Adam

but it is the result of rebuild, not of any package changes.
