I see the packages were built on the last two archs after retrying.
The packages have been built on all archs now.

Ok, please unblock crystalhd/1:0.0~git20110715.fdd2f19-9.

This will only have the removal of the dkms package to
address bugs 682252 and 699470. Note the bug 682252
was marked a normal bug, but both were actually the
same bug and both were release critical.

Here is the debdiff from the current package in testing
to the new package in unstable.

Bug#702109: unblock: crystalhd/1:0.0~git20110715.fdd2f19-8

2013-03-02 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: unblock

Please unblock package crystalhd

This new package release fixes two release critical bugs related to the
buggy driver that was distributed through a dkms package. Users of the driver
should instead use the crystalhd driver already provided in the mainline
kernel. This package also enables the hardening options which is a release
goal. This was missed in the last upload.

Finally, I did end up bumping the Standards-Version from 3.9.3 to 3.9.4.
I can place it back to 3.9.3, though there was no changes needed when
bumping the Standards-Version to 3.9.4.

Below is the debdiff.

Let's also do the same for every library maintained by the Debian
Multimedia team whenever a SONAME bump occurs.

Bug#653195: transition: libarchive

2011-12-25 Thread Andres Mejia
I have finished checking what changes were required for gmameui,
tuxcmd-modules, and deb-gview in order to build with both the current
version of libarchive (2.8.5) and the latest version (3.0.2).
Fortunately, all changes required are trivial. I filed bug reports and
patches in the following locations.

gmameui: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653231
tuxcmd-modules: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653233
deb-gview: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=653237

As said before, all other packages simply need to be binNMUed. The
package 'hydrogen' requires a sourceful upload for a seperate issue.

With all this said, I am requesting a transition slot for the
transition from libarchive 2.8.5 to libarchive 3.0.2.

I attempt to rebuild all packages in this list in a clean chroot. Out
of all the packages, only gmameui, tuxcmd-modules, and deb-gview
appear to require changes to their sources in order to build with the
latest libarchive. All other packages can simply be binNMUed.

One other note, hydrogen currently fails to build, although that stems
from a different issue which has already been addressed and pending a
new upload. The pending version of hydrogen builds with the latest
version of libarchive.

Bug#653195: transition: libarchive

2011-12-24 Thread Andres Mejia
Package: release.debian.org
Severity: normal
User: release.debian@packages.debian.org
Usertags: transition

I am requesting a transition from libarchive1 to the latest libarchive shared
library package (which will be libarchive12). The latest libarchive version to
transition to will be libarchive-3.0.2 (soon to be uploaded to experimental).
This transition will require source changes to packages that used the following
functions from libarchive.

archive_read_data_block
archive_read_data_into_buffer
archive_read_set_format_options
archive_read_set_filter_options
archive_read_extract_set_skip_file
archive_write_set_skip_file
archive_write_data_block
archive_write_set_format_options
archive_write_set_compressor_options
archive_write_disk_set_skip_file
archive_write_disk_set_group_lookup
archive_write_disk_set_user_lookup
archive_read_disk_gname
archive_read_disk_uname
archive_read_disk_set_gname_lookup
archive_read_disk_set_uname_lookup
archive_entry_gid
archive_entry_ino
archive_entry_uid
archive_entry_set_gid
archive_entry_set_ino
archive_entry_set_uid
archive_entry_acl_add_entry
archive_entry_acl_add_entry_w
__archive_entry_acl_parse_w

All other packages can simply be binNMUed. The following packages are reverse
dependencies of libarchive1 (as found using apt-cache).

  ark
  gmameui
  tuxcmd-modules
  libtotem-plparser17
  reprepro
  rdup
  packagekit-bash-completion
  packagekit
  libpackagekit-glib2-14
  gstreamer0.10-packagekit
  browser-plugin-packagekit
  libapache2-mod-musicindex
  hydrogen
  gvfs-backends
  deb-gview
  cpio
  cmake-qt-gui
  cmake-curses-gui
  cmake
  claws-mail-archiver-plugin
  archivemount

Also, libtotem-plparser-dev is a reverse dependency on libarchive-dev.

libvdpau (updated package)

2010-11-12 Thread Andres Mejia
Hello,

The current package of libvdpau in experimental (0.4.1-1) would fix bug
#603220. The package in libvdpau is 0.4-5. The differences between the two
packages can be found at [1]. The only change by upstream from 0.4 to 0.4.1
were minor documentation changes in the public headers [2].

Question I have is, would it be alright to make an upload of the package from
experimental to unstable and if so, could I be granted a freeze exception?

Please do a binNMU for unicap on sparc. Right now, the unicap libraries and

I took care of this problem by taking care of the gentle warning produced by
Perl::Critic. It's not a one-liner, but I thought the other lines could pose
a problem in the future anyway, so I corrected them as well.

Just in case it's already been forgotten, I'm asking for a freeze exception on
nvidia-cg-toolkit (2.0.0015.deb3).

Did anyone receive my last message about this. I had said there was a problem
I didn't resolve for 1.4.7 until after 1.4.8 was released. I went ahead and
packaged 1.4.8, but it wasn't accepted until the copyright file was fixed,
which I didn't fix until after 1.4.9 was released.

So now can ogre and ogre-doc-nonfree be unblocked? ogre-doc-nonfree has the
API and manual documentation currently found in ogre 1.4.6.dfsg1-1.

2008-08-02 Thread Andres Mejia
Greetings Release Team! Please remove vegastrike, vegastrike-data, and
vegastrike-music from inclusion in Lenny. In it's current state, vegastrike
will segfault or otherwise make the game unplayable (see bug #488686). To
resolve this, vegastrike and vegastrike-data need to be updated to version
0.5.0, which has not been uploaded yet. vegastrike-music should also be
removed as it has a dependency on vegastrike-data.

Hello,

I'm sending this mail to ftpmaster and the Debian release team as this could
be the biggest package in the main archive if uploaded. I haven't heard
anything else about what to do with large data packages except for the
discussions back in May at debian-devel.

The package vegastrike-data-0.5.0 is suitable to go into main and if uploaded
and accepted would fit in the archive at about 1GB total. I recall a solution
s to produce a lighter version of such large packages. We've yet to produce
a "lite" version of vegastrike-data since we are more or less not sure what
to exclude/include in a vegastrike-data-lite package and also, because of
lack of time to produce such a package. This may be too late to fix for
Lenny, but I think a temporary solution for this is to include
a 'vegastrike-data-lite' that's just a dummy package that the vegastrike
source package produces and that vegastrike depends on. It could have some
documentation explaining the situation. Then the script to start vegastrike
could be modified to ensure the file to start the game is present and if not,
can display a friendly message to install 'vegastrike-data' from
data.debian.org (or wherever) and exit gracefully. Afterwards, someone can
work on a real lite version of vegastrike-data to include in main.

Of course if we do this now, what is the Section that it will go to? Will it
just be in "games" or "data/games"? Also, if we ever come to a conclusion as
to what to do with the vegastrike packages and they are all uploaded, is
there any chance that they can be included in Lenny?

Fwd: Please schedule binNMUs for openal -> openal-soft transition

2008-07-13 Thread Andres Mejia
Hello,

I'm resending this email from Reinhard. We're requesting binNMUs for reverse
dependencies of openal. Our previous issue with uploading the latest version
of openal-soft has been resolved.

-- Forwarded Message --

Subject: Please schedule binNMUs for openal -> openal-soft transition
Date: Sunday 06 July 2008
From: Reinhard Tartler <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
To: debian-release@lists.debian.org

Dear release team,

Due to the switch from openal to openal-soft, reverse dependencies need
to be rebuild against the new package. The following packages are ready
for binNMU (testbuild successful locally on i386):

antigrav_0.0.3-2
blender_2.46+dfsg-2
boson_0.13-4
btanks_0.7.5800-2
chromium_0.9.13.1-1
coin2_2.5.0-2
flightgear_1.0.0-3
freealut_1.1.0-1
glest_3.1.2-1
hugs98_98.200609.21-5
mplayer_1.0~rc2-14
pyopenal_0.1.6-4
scorched3d_41.3dfsg-1
soya_0.13.2-4
supertuxkart_0.5-1
torcs_1.3.0-3
tremulous_1.1.0-4.1
trigger_0.5.2-2
vegastrike_0.5~svn12126-2
warzone2100_2.1.0~1.beta2-1
xpilot-ng_1:4.7.3~cvs20080224-1

The package taoframework seems to require a sourceful upload and cannot
be handeled with a binNMU.

The following two packages fail because the new libopenal-dev package
does no longer provide a .la file. AFAUIU this file is only needed for
static linking, which is frowned upon by both the release and security
team.

fail because of missing .la:
rss-glx: #489098
osgal: #489096

other failures:
funguloids needs to be rebuild but fails because of #482649

Can we wait until after OpenAL Soft 1.4.272 is uploaded?

So in summary:

1. Upload openal-soft to unstable but without -dev package.
2. Wait for it to enter testing.
3. Once openal-soft enters testing, reupload openal-soft with -dev package and
openal without -dev package.

Is this correct?
