Please file a proper unblock bug for each of them, stating your case

Understood, in fact I did that right after having sent the mail to the mailing
list.

- isospec: a very small library for science;

This one is already in buster, and looking at the changelog I think it
should really be unblocked (using -march is a RC bug, you should
actually file one affecting the version in buster and fixed in
unstable…)

Done with a mail to cont...@bugs.debian.org.

- daps: an all-architecture package to build documentation;

Also for this package, have I made an unblock bug report.

Thank you for your attention and your work,

Sincerely,
Filippo

Advocating for unstable->testing flow

2019-03-07 Thread Filippo Rusconi

Greetings, Fellow Debianites and Release Managers,

I would like to advocate for two pacakges to enter testing if no critical bugs
are found in them:

- isospec: a very small library for science;
- daps: an all-architecture package to build documentation;

I have packaged these software pieces myself because my msxpertsuite software
needs them.

I really would like msxpertsuite to be part of stable, because it is a
replacement of massxpert that had a pretty good popularity contest rate. It is
not a recent development, and I currently have a paper in revision where I
pretend it will be in Debian :-).

isospec and daps do not have reverse-dependencies other than msxpertsuite.

In the hope that you will consider this request favorably,

Sincerely,
Filippo
