Bug#689579: unblock: dvi2ps-fontdesc-morisawa5/0.5
Hi Adam, On Sat, 13 Oct 2012 18:26:30 +0100, Adam D. Barratt wrote: Looking through the diff, there's an undocumented bump of the debhelper compat level from 4 to 6. What's the rationale for that? Hmm, this package is very simple and so I seldom update the package. So I'm afraid the package becomes rather an old style package as time passes. So when I've got a chance to update package I've tried to update anything as possible as I can. I don't remeber precisely, but I guess I bump the debhelper compat level along the following modification. * To erase lintian warnings, we refine debian/rules a bit. This might be not an appropriate modification at a freeze period but I think this is not a practical problem. If I should change packaging or changelog or anything, please let me know. Bug#689579: unblock: dvi2ps-fontdesc-morisawa5/0.5
Hi Adam, On Fri, 05 Oct 2012 19:12:17 +0100, Adam D. Barratt wrote: The package was removed from testing back in May as part of the last TeXLive transition. Is there a particular justification for trying to re-add it now? At TeXLive transition, I thought wrongly that this was obsolete and unnecessary. But I notice, after getting Bug#688253 and reviewing the package, that this is necessary even now to use complete set of morisawa fonts. I explain a meaning of complete set of morisawa fonts briefly. As the package name morisawa5 indicates, this contains fonts data for five typefaces. Normally, Japanese fonts consist of only two type faces, i.e. Mincho(like roman) and Gothic(like Bold sanserif). But Morisawa fonts have three more typefaces, i.e. FutoMin(bold Mincho), FutoGo(bolder than normal Gothic), Jun101(hand-writing shape, soft or casual Mincho). One can use Mincho and Gothic of Morisawa fonts without this package (perhaps) but one needs this package to use FutoMin, FutoGo and Jun101. So I think it is reasonable to re-add this package. Thanks for your work.
