some strange kernel message...
Apart that i've tried to compile 2.4.0 (won't compile) and 2.4.1 (won't boot) in my ss10, i've some strange message from 2.2.18. After some days of uptime (4-5) if i do "ps" i got: {iommu_get_scsi_one_gflush} {___f_mmu_get_scsi_one} Warning: /boot/System.map-2.2.18 does not match kernel data. i have to pain?! ;) Apart for this, sparc do the job very well. -- dott. ing. Rarp and tftp will be enough. The potato netboot images etc. can be found at your local debian mirror under potato/main/disks-sparc/current/sun4cdm. To inspect the disk later, you will have to build a kernel with UFS and sun disklabel support. (unless the install kernel has them...) setting up a screenless sparc1
I just had a sparcstation1, given by my university. Unfortunately, it has no screen, and i don't know how live is the disk. I'd like to have a bit fun with, including eventually put a debian on it (as i have on 2 i386 already). i was looking a way of 1 - using an i386 box as a terminal for the Sparc. I know it's via the serial line, but all resarch gave nothing for this. Could anyone know how? 2 - For later, be able to boot it, and see what's left on. rarp, tftp and bottparams are configured on a i386 box. For the moment, i couldn't manage finding a boot image or root/swap partitions. (by the way, do i need the UFS fs in the kernel?). Sorry for beeing (for the moment) so lame, and thanks for any help Sylvain
