Since it is a general bug, report it to the Bug Tracking System (linked
to from the www.debian.org site).

Apache configuration files

As downloaded, apache is configured to find its files in /etc/apache.
I moved them to /a/apache/conf to match all of our older systems,
but apachectl and apache couldn't find them, inspite of changing
the CONF variable in /etc/init.d/apache.

1) apachectl ignores the CONF variable. I changed line 28 to fix that.

HTTPD="/usr/sbin/apache -f $CONF"

2) /etc/init.d/apache does not export any of the variables that
   are defined.  I changed line 13 to fix that:

export CONF=/a/apache/conf/httpd.conf

I'm not sure where I should report this, but since I'm doing it
on a Sparc I thought I would start here. /grin

I made mk2fs -J size=8 /dev/sda1 on a dos disklabel, now everything is fine.

You have to make a partition. Why do you want to make a dos or vfat
partition on a Sun disk? I'm hoping you mean just a normal partition,
which you would do:

mke2fs /dev/sda1

after checking the scsi and adaptec drivers I get following at boot:

   or too many mounted file systems


I made a 'fdisk' and created a sun disklabel with 's' but the parameter rotating
speed [5400] confused me a bit. How can I make a dos or vfat disklabel on it
again, because the machine can read dos formatted floppies.


Any further hints?

No, that was taken 'as is' from my setup.
I just meant that you should check that a host 'sparc 192.168.1.10'
is allowed to mount something from your red-had box.

There it looks like it can't, maybe nfsd is not running or not on
the program number 13. I don't know red-hat but check:
/etc/hosts.allow
/etc/rpc (defines nfs and mount -15-)
