Re: Sound on sun4c
If it is any consolation peter, I have never been able to make audio work with any of my sparc4's, 5's or even on this ultra 5 (which has woody installed). It seems like a complete mystery to me. david it is not like a huge priority but sometimes i might just like to hear a mp3 as i try to do some real work. There isn't enough posted information on the net for people looking into the issues w/ ip routing / tunneling. There's a little bit but its all scattered with no real conclusion. If your someone that's already in the know these problems have become trivial and commonly asked (re: annoying). So hopefully, any newcommers finding this problem wont have to ask about it umpteen times, waste time searching, or bother people on the list(s). http://linux.lithiumnode.com/tunnel/ -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". SparcAudio is seperate to OSS/Free in the kernel and it only implements the bare minimum OSS functionality on its own. So, /dev/{dsp,audio,audioctl,mixer} work, but /dev/sndstat is left out. bye - -- 8<8<8<8<8<8<8< Ian Tester *8)# \7\LINUX: because geeks will find a way [EMAIL PROTECTED] \7\ http://www.zipworld.com.au/~imroy -BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE- Version: GnuPG v1.0.7 (GNU/Linux) Comment: pgpenvelope 2.10.2 - http://pgpenvelope.sourceforge.net/ iD8DBQE9BEjbotavukHNBh4RAgb+AJ9UGhXIO1Hvv4B2UQwRoJUivnnYXwCfeuoB CHh9S7AejmLst9psKZg7TEI= =o63M -END PGP SIGNATURE- -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
