There is an old Sparc 2 here, happily running Woody with Apache

Seems that a simple technique for upgrading to Sarge is to replace
every occurance of woody with sarge in /etc/apt/sources.list
and then update and install in dselect. Is this likely to be
successful?
It would probably be best to follow the release notes/installation
instructions, especially on an old machine like this. You might want to
pay particular attention to the parts that say '...back up your system
before upgrading'
On questionable architectures, I created an NFS root first, then
upgraded. If it went OK, I then copied that back to the disk. If it
doesn't, no harm done. Takes a little longer, but takes some of the
nail biting out of it, too. I did that on both my SS20 and my dual PPC
604 machine. If something goes wrong you can just start over.
Will a Woody package run in Sarge? If so I can work in stages.
Upgrade the US main first, then the US non-free, then US contribs
and etc.
I guess that would depend on the package, but most do. You would be
better off upgrading to sarge and then downgrading those packages to the
woody version.
Are Apache and Postfix working OK in Sparc Sarge?
Sarge is 'stable', remember? ~:^)
