FAQ, you don't. [It wasn't clear who maintained that when I last thought it needed fixing -- anyone know where to send updates?] You need to populate /usr/gnemul/solaris from a Solaris distribution. Not completely sure what the 'Solaris Sparc' binary compatibility package would be called??? Set up the gnemul directory correctly (see fairly recent posts about that) and just load the `solaris' module. I doubt that's going to help much with the x86 card, though.

Solaris Debian ?
I am kind of wondering out loud - debian:/home/sneex# man -k solar README.solaris (1) [perlsolaris] - Perl version 5 on Solaris systems perlsolaris (1) - Perl version 5 on Solaris systems Why would Solaris documentation be included on Debian? Also, a real question :) Can anyone tell me which of the following is the actual SunPCi (Intel CPU) card? debian:/home/sneex# lspci 00:00.0 Host bridge: Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. Ultra IIi 00:01.0 PCI bridge: Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. Simba Advanced PCI Bridge (rev 13) 00:01.1 PCI bridge: Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. Simba Advanced PCI Bridge (rev 13) 01:01.0 Bridge: Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. EBUS (rev 01) 01:01.1 Ethernet controller: Sun Microsystems Computer Corp. Happy Meal (rev 01) 01:02.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc 3D Rage Pro 215GP (rev 5c) 01:03.0 IDE interface: CMD Technology Inc PCI0646 (rev 03) 02:01.0 SCSI storage controller: LSI Logic / Symbios Logic (formerly NCR) 53c875 (rev 26) 02:03.0 Bridge: Digital Equipment Corporation DECchip 21554 (rev 01) I know there is a SunPCi card in the system and I want to start hacking on it... ??? -Sx- _ Well, in general, the thing I don't like about other computer languages is that they're not Perl. -Larry Wall
Re: Solaris Debian ?
All of the others are known hardware, so the only conclusion from this list is: The SunPCi card is behind the DEC 21554 bridge, i.e. on 02:03.0 There is little to figure about the card through this bridge, you can get the datasheet from intel, but I doubt you will get very far without aditional knowledge about the cards structure (as busses and mappings are concerned). Well, do you know where I can get one of: debian:/usr/share/doc# find / -name gnemul -ls debian:/usr/share/doc# find / -name ibcs2 -ls Not completely sure what the 'Solaris Sparc' binary compatibility package would be called??? I searched the Debian site packages (stable, test, and even unstable), but the it lists 'ibcs' only... I feel if I can hack on the card via the Solaris PC software itself this will likely prove useful. I believe I need to tune in, turn on, or somehow set-up Solaris Binary compatibility; Thx/Sx :]
