I pulled the source package from Incoming went to build it on a
SS5/110 with 64Mb 192Mb swap - cc1 choes after sucking up all the
virtual memory it can lay it's hands on when generating asm from the
tmp-dum.c file in the first pass.

Do you want to pursue this on the egcs lists (I don't read them)?

Perl is really designed more for the guys that will hack Perl at least
20 minutes a day for the rest of their career. TCL/Python is more a

new egcs-snapshot-19981110

1998-11-10 Thread Matthias Klose
You can find a new egcs snapshot on master in
http://master.debian.org/~doko/
(soon to be moved to project/experimental). What's new?

- rewritten sparc backend (includes ultrasparc support).
- major (?) performance increase at least for dhrystone on ppro (9%)
  (see http://www.cygnus.com/ml/egcs/1998-Oct/1166.html).
- new frontends (chill and java).
- pascal front end currently disabled.

I would like to get information about package builds on architectures
other than i386. Please run the testsuite! (Needs dejagnu from
project/experimental).
