Re: setenv missing
Thanks to all who responded, problem solved. Some time ago I had a trouble with with color-ls. I had put bash.rc's and bash_profile's in /etc & /root csh.cshrc and so on A clear out and fresh start has worked wonders, Thanks again , Neil -- ~~~+ Neil Walker (+44 626 853306) Learning Debian Linux | ~~~+ -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . That would stop you installing these two together at all. A similar problem applies with GNAT Ada; it wants gcc 2.7.2, and in fact replaces the gcc executable, so things don't go nicely if you try to run gcc 2.7.2.1 + gnat 3.04 (well, 3.05 is out but not in a package). I did mention this on the list a while back and to the maintainer; I'm not sure what's being done about resolving this, though. GNAT supplies a new gcc binary because Ada support is disabled in gcc 2.7.2's binary by default, and needs to be recompiled with it enabled. Ideally, the GCC package will have gcc with this enabled, and the GNAT package will not supply a gcc at all. Hopefully this will happen for the next GNAT package version, which is awaiting GNAT 3.06 (based on gcc 2.7.2.1). hamish -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] . kernel version
Hello, I have been told that the Debian distribution is based on the 2.x kernel version. Is this true? If so if I buy a recent release of a CDROM set say Informagics will it include this release? I desparately need an actual distribution based on the 2.x kernel versions, Ive been told Debian is it. Perhaps you all could tell me if I heard correctly. Are you *certain* that you are transferring them in BINARY mode? Do you have your floppy drive mounted so that it does automatic *nix<->DOS conversion? UUCP lib/distribution mismatch
The uucp_1.06.1-2.deb that was included in the Debian 1.1-14 distribution is not compatible with libc. The executables (uucico, etc) are looking for libc.so.4 while this distribution comes with libc.so.5. Is there an updated compiled uucp packages available? -- \/ \ Carl Greco PHONE voice: (402) 496-3381 / \ [EMAIL PROTECTED] / \==/ -- TO UNSUBSCRIBE FROM THIS MAILING LIST: e-mail the word "unsubscribe" to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
