problema con particion
Holas, Tengo un dd de 8Mb. Hasta ahora solo estaba usando los 6 primeros pero ahora necesito usar el resto. Hago una particion tipo linux con cfdisk al final del disco (he tratado con una logica y una primaria), pero al tratar de crear el sistema de archivos pasa lo siguiente. lady-armanoid:~# mkfs /dev/hdc8 mke2fs 1.12, 9-Jul-98 for EXT2 FS 0.5b, 95/08/09 /dev/hdc8: Invalid argument passed to ext2 library while setting up superblock Le he estado dando vualtas al asunto pero no hay manera. No recuerdo haber tenido este problema cuando cree las otras particiones, aunque ya fue hace un tiempo asi que no estoy seguro. Podria experimentar mas pero me da miedo da~ar alguna otra particion. Jugar con la tabla de particion es un poco peligroso asi que decidi preguntar antes de empezar a ensuciarme las manos. Alguien tiene una idea? Blu.

Pues funciona relativamente. Sólo contestan los equipos con Linux. Los

lo he hecho aqui dentro del email sin probarlo.

Lo que me estaba desconcertando es que sólo respondiesen algunos ordenadores, hasta que me he dado cuenta de que eran los que tenían Linux y que los de Windows pasaban. [solucionado] librerias fantasmas
Buenas, pues resulta que al poner ldconfig mo detectaba perfectamente la libreria pero no al ejecutar el programa del usuario. Solucion... cambiar la libreria de directorio, al /lib. Crear otra vez el link y volver a ejecutar ldconfig. Aunque parezca algo bruto, ha funcionado de maravilla. Muchas gracias a A. Ramos por su ayuda. Nos leemos. Quimi -Mensaje original- De: A. Buenas, Tengo a un usuario con Linux que ha instalado en su directorio un programa para trabajar con un puerto GP-IB, bueno, pues cuando ejecuta el programa le dice que no puede ejecutar la libreria: libtermcap.so.2 entonces he probado de poner: ldd ./ibconfig y me contesta con todas las librerias que se necesitan para hacer funcionar este programa, y las encuentra todas menos una, la libtermcap.so.2 la he buscado con un find y la he encontrado en el disco duro, pero el programa no la encuentra. De momento lo mejor es hacer un downgrade a la 'net-tools_1.57-1.deb' que está en woody. hola todos Recientemente me he actualizado al kernel 2.4.1 El problema que tengo es el siguiente:despues de recompilar el kernel,y los modulos de la pcmcia,pues mi pcmcia todavia no esta soportado en el kernel,arranco con el nuevo kernel,al arrancar la pcmcia me coge la interrupcion 9,que la esta usando otro dispositivo pci. En 2.2.17 me cogia la 3 y sin ningun problema.En /etc/pcmcia/config.opts le pongo un exclude irq 9 pero aun asi se lo pasa por el arco del triunfo. Si le resevo una irq tampoco,se coge la 9. sabe alguien el porque? gracias

Hola. Mucha gente por aquí ocupa parte de su tiempo en atender dudas de los demás. A la mayoría de [EMAIL PROTECTED], con razón, les gusta que quien pregunta se tome, antes, las molestias mínimas, ya que es el interasado ¿no? Una de las más obvias es poner algún asunto en un correo dirigido a lista que distribuye docenas de ellos diarios. Así es que no te extrañe si no responde mucha gente. Yo he visto tu pregunta de casualidad, pues a menudo descarto muchos mensajes por el asunto. Los primeros: los que no lo tienen. Hace unos días necesité exactamente eso. Busqué y encontré una pequeña utilidad muy cómoda de usar, si no tienes grandes pretensiones: cgiemail. Solo fíjate la dirección que tienes que poner en el action del botón de envío. Ya está. ¿ Red con Mulinux como?
Hola linuxeros: Estoy intentando conectar en red dos ordenadores, uno es un amd k6 a 400Mh, y el otro es un portatil amstrad 386SX con 4MB de ram. En el amd la tarjeta me funciona perfecta mente una isa, cuando hago ping a la dirección del ordenador amd, responde bien. Pero en el amstrad he instalado Mulinux configura la tarjeta otra isa y al hacer ping al amstrad, me responde que la red es inadcesible. La instalación de Mulinux esta en una partición Dos. ¿Alguien a logrado configurar alguna tarjeta con Mulinux?, si alguien lo ha conseguido por favor me indique como. Gracias y una saludo para todos.

wu-ftpd bug? (login incorrect)
Hola Tengo instalado wu-2.6.0(1). No sé desde cuando, pero no me autentifica los usuarios (login incorrect...) El /etc/shells hay mi shell, el wu-ftpd corre bien, por ssh, telnet, se entra bien en la máquina. Parece que ha sido reportado en Debian como bug hace 25 dias, pero no sé si es el mismo bug. Alguien tiene más información al respecto? (solución? problema del wu-ftpd? problema de configuración?) Gracias! Pues bien.. después de leer algunas de las sugerencias que apareceiron en otra lista a la que envié mi consulta, puedo decir que después de haber revisar el .gnome-errors, me encontré con lo siguiente: Unable to create TCP socket fatal error opening socket Y esto se repite bastante, por lo que supongo es la causa de la demora, ya me habían comentado que podría tratarse de un problema de este tipo pero sólo fue un sugerencia. Habiendo revisado en distintas partes me encontré con que no habías elegido el soporte para el protocolo IPv4, ahora mi problema es que no sé cual de las selecciones que hice al momento de compilar el kernel, pudo haber desactivado el soporte apra IPv4 compilé nuevamente el kernel y nada, luego a través de menuconfig, y sin guardar la configuración, busqué cual pudo ser el error, y no puedo encontrarlo... Posiblemente tengo que habilidar el IP_forwad echo 1 /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward, tengo que hacerlo en tiempo de boteo, después de montado el proc.. pero la verdad, no sé como... además modprobe se queja que no encuentra el modulo net-pf-2 que es el modulo de soporte del protocolo IPv4 uqé puedo hacer?

Hace rato que no escribia a la lista.., el trabajo me esta consumiendo, anteriormente hice una consulta sobre DNS, al final lo pude configurar, igual el servicio de correo electronico, ftp y web, lo importante del asunto es que el trabajito lo hice en una empresa que ofrece servicios publicos y pues los chicos estan supercontentos con la estabilidad que a mostrado nuestro querido Debian, estan buscando migrar una base de datos que tienen en interbase.. se que hay una version de interbase para linux pero no tengo mucha informacion, el caso es que les estoy metiendo posgres por lo ojos :), aunque no se mucho al respecto.., bueno vamos de poco en poco y pensamos utilizar linux para muchas mas cosas en dicha empresa, ahora se me presenta otro reto conectar dos redes de dicha empresa que estan mas o menos como a 3 o 4 kilometros... me han dicho que tienen un par aislado, y dos modems inteligentes (banda base), linux soporta estos modems? son externos.. supongo que si pero al ser un! par aislado no se necesita marcar numero telefonico y no se que camino tomar.. cualquier ayuda se las agredeceria mucho, les comparto que estoy muy contento por que he podido demostrar en esta pequeña ciudad que linux vale la pena y que se puede apostar por el (en esta pequeña ciudad estamos algo atrasados en noticias :) ).. Si ademas lo quieres para usarlo y tal, instala slashcode, o mejor, slash-bp. Para instalartelo, descarga el tarball desde slashcode.org, tiene un README donde te explica todo lo que necesitas (mogollon de modulos de perl, cambios en apache, mysql...). Sobre el, corres los scripts de slash-bp y demas modificaciones (explicadas en el tarball de slash-bp, tambien accesible por cvs). Es laborioso, pero no imposible y al acabar tendras una herramienta muy poderosa. Las modificaciones que se están implementando en slash-bp son realmente potentes. (Y creo recordar que jesus estaba preparando unos paquetes debian con slash-bp pero no estoy seguro de si al final lo hizo...). Ademas está a punto de liberarse bender, la proxima version de slashcode que ya incluirá un port para postgres. en cuanto a la facilidad de configuracion una vez instalado, slashcode no es mas dificil que squishdot pues está pensado para poderse personalizar de modo facil con blocks de html a traves de formularios web. Otra cosa es meterte a cambios de funcionalidades, para lo cual debes tener conocimientos de mysql (pronto tb postgres) y perl. Pero implementar nuevas funciones tampoco es facil con squishdot pues debes saber python. En cuanto a ayudar a reportar errores a slash-bp, encantadísimo. si, pero para eso hay que instalarselo, ya digo. Existe também o binary-all, e um monte de pacotes dos binary-* são symlinks para lá. Acho (não olhei) que os common genéricos ficam nessa árvore. E ela obviamente não deve servir para nada isolada. Desse modo, pode haver um blabla_versão_i386.deb e um blabla_versão_m68k.deb que se ligam ambos a um blablacommon_versão_all.deb, chamando-o simplesmente de blablacommon_versão, que por sua vez se liga aos dois primeiros, chamando-os apenas de blabla_versão. Assim, quando o apt ou outro gerenciador encontra o arquivo linkado, acha que é daquela arquitetura, quando na verdade não tem nenhuma. agora sim... aqui vc falou algo certo.. *mas*... vc pode querer instalar o common sozinho por uma serie de coisas, mas digamos que isso naum seja necessario a vc, o certo eh criar no caso 3 pacotes Para isso existe a opção de forçar a instalação. Dúvida
Tenho uma dúvida... Eu estava usando Debian normalmente. Mas liguei a máquina e apareceu o seguinte erro: /dev/hdb2 contains a file system with erros, check forced Após checar, apareceu a seguinte mensagem: /dev/hdb2: Unattached inode 189337 depois acusava erro no fsck. pede para corrigir o erro manualmente e rebutar a máquina. Após digitar a senha de root, abre um shell. Já rebutei a máquina, mas o erro persiste. E não foi só na minha máquina. Um amigo meu instalou o meu Debian e ocorreu o mesmo erro. Como corrigir este erro, e por que aconteceu isso ?

E aí você digita o seguinte comando: fsck /dev/hdb2 Esse comando conserta alguns problemas que automaticamente não são consertados e se você não o rodar manualmente, como eu coloquei acima, toda hora o sistema vai te alertar sobre o erro, se assim arrumá-lo. re, 2 questions: 1) How do you rebuild the dpkg db on a system where there are so many self-compiled/installed programs that you lost track of it. I mean, is there a simple way of checking them in the db, so you can upgrade easily to the newest versions or do you have to install the debs and then remove your originally compiled programs. 2) Is there a way to update the dpkg db, with your own program info. I installed Debian potato 2.2.r2 with X and Enlightenment and Wmaker. Upon startup X chooses the former while I'like like to start with the latter. Where can I tell X to start with Wmaker instead of Enlightenment?

The zip rescue disk is able to boot and configure networking just fine, everything works.The hard disk cannot.The only difference in booting is that the 'zip_rescue' entry in LILO uses the zip disk as the root, whereas the 'linux' entry uses my hard disk. The kernel is not on either partition. /proc information: When booting from hard disk: /proc/interrupts does not list the ethernet card, nor its IRQ. /proc/ioports (i think) lists the ethernet card on 0xb400. When booting from the zip disk, /proc/interrupts lists the ethernet card correctly on IRQ 10. /proc/ioports lists the card on 0xb400. Realtek's diagnostics show the card as working properly, and it works in Windows as well as on the zip rescue. So what is it that changed to make my networking stop working when booting from the hard disk, while networking works fine when booted from the zip?Any ideas?!? netscape's dns-helper too quick
Hi there, when I put an url in netscape, I often get an unknown host error message, maybe once, twice and then it finally can resolve the name. I think that dns-helper gives too little time to the resolver to find the address, and it only works at the second or third request because in the meantime the name server had the time to cache the previous request. This problem happens on two different configurations, one with bind running on the same machine and one with bind running on a different host. Is anyone else having this problem with the way netscape resolves a hostname? any cure ? Hello all, I have experienced a similar problem: I had debian potato working with an pentium processor, but a combinatiuon of upgrading hardware and a 'helping friend' uninstalling most of the system convinced me to restart the install from scratch. The new system: Athlon k7 pro gigabyte k7 series mobo ordinary ide drives and gfx card Problem: On booting, I get the regular messages until ncr53c406a: no available ports found. Then the system freezes, ctrl-alt-del doens't work. I know that ncr is a scsi device, but I doubt very much that the problem lies here because I haven't had scsi devices, ever. This is just the point at which the boot process fails, and reliably so. If anyone has suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Hello list, I recently downloaded the CD image of potato, officially called '2.2r' I triedan install on an AMD 1.1 TB Socket A w/ 768 mb ram, Asus AV7 motherboard I got a kernel panic halt, then it completely freezes up, ctl-alt-del don't even work. Last week I tried to install the same 2.2r, but for a different media, onto a Compaq Presario w/ a Cyrix CPU, same thing, kernel halt then it spits out is junk a mile long. I have installed this version successfully, just not on these two machines. The machines I have had luck w/ all had Intel CPU Pentiums, and one Pentium !!! What this all boils down to is that I gotta be missing something here. Do AMD and Cyrix CPU require a special boot mode or something? Anyone experienced the same problem with AMD and Cyrix? Maybe potato 2.2r official CD images aren't ready to be classified as STABLE,

This announcement is for the Debian users of PLplot out there. Debian packages for the almost latest stable release of PLplot (5.0.1) are available. Debian packages for version 5.0.2 will be available in the near future, as time permits. The packages work for the potato distribution (2.2). We have set up an apt-getable location in the PLplot web site. This is a convenience for the potato users, since there is no need to upgrade to the unstable (or testing) version in order to get the latest PLplot for Debian. To upgrade your packages, just add the following lines to your /etc/apt/sources.list: deb http://plplot.sourceforge.net/resources/debian ./ deb-src http://plplot.sourceforge.net/resources/debian ./ then run apt-get update and apt-get dist-upgrade and you should be okay. Please notice that there has been a package reorganization, and some names changed. I tried to make the upgrade as smooth as possible, but there may be still some bugs. In particular, there are now two conflicting packages, plplot-xwin and plplot-tcl, both dependent on plplot-common. The old plplot package is now just an empty transition package. Urgent: can't install Netscape anymore?
Howdy, I just installed a new Debian box which needs to have Netscape (preferably 6.01). Unfortunately both version 6.01 and 4.76 seem to depend on libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.2 and all I have is libstdc++-libc6.1-2.so.3 Any idea how to fix this? I tried linking .2 to .3 and running ldconfig again but that doesn't seem to help. It's urgent since the user needs it today for a demo. They are actively marking there 'enemies' (just making a living ?) and taking them out by means of dis-information, sneaky marketing campaigns etc. There is not one civilian in this world who CAN understand the issues/ethics of this conglomerate and i'm sure none ever will. This is M$'s strong point, ignorance. Admit it, Linux isn't top-notch just yet, if the community learns from M$ strategy's and counters these with education instead of deprevation it will prevail. And from personal experience ;-), I think I know what you did wrong... You have to specify -audio in the cdrecord options. I didn't and ended up with a similar anti-moisture furniture protector. Hall

But now if X uses the front-end pgaccess he gets this error message: IDENT authentification failed for user 'X' I don't know the correct answer to your problem, but I have an idea. Everything on there is compiled by hand until recently when I discovered apt :) so I want all those programs to be in my dpkg db, so I can upgrade them through apt-get. set up a local directory with a debian-archive structure, put your files in it and use dpkg-scanpackages to build your own package file, then point apt to your local archive and you're in business.
