Bonne année à tous! Suite à une mauvaise manip', j'ai tout plein de liens symboliques qui polluent mon disque dur dans le repertoire /home/zelos/docs/. Pourriez-vous m'indiquer la solution pour les effacer d'un coup (par script, par exemple) car j'ai peur des fausses manips! Merci, Zelos

Find sait faire ça :
find /home/zelos/docs -type l -print
va lister tous ces liens.
Si c'est OK :
find /home/zelos/docs -type l -exec rm {} \;
les effacera.

Pour récupérer la liste:find /home/zelos/docs/ -type l
La meme liste et effacer: find /home/zelos/docs/ -type l -print -exec rm
-f {} \;
Vérifie la liste, si c'est ok exécute la 2nd commande, sinon efface les
sélectivement.

Après, si l'on veut profiter d'une optimisation quelconque proposée par une autre distribution, rien n'empêche de l'appliquer au paquet source de sa propre distribution, et d'utiliser les outils prévus à cet effet (apt-get source et dpkg-buildpackage et pbuilder fonctionnent très bien !), voire de proposer ce patch dans un rapport de bug, permettant d'en faire profiter le plus grand nombre si le mainteneur est d'accord pour l'inclure dans le paquet officiel. iceweasel est une dépendance de firefox (paquet virtuel), donc 'aptitude install firefox' fonctionne toujours, le navigateur installé ne s'appelle pas firefox, mais c'est bel et bien un fork, un lien est même mis en place : ls -l $(which firefox) lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 26 déc 27 08:51 /usr/bin/firefox - ../lib/iceweasel/iceweasel Donc : AUCUN changement pour l'utilisateur qui n'est pas au courant de l'histoire entre Debian et la fondation Mozilla. Bonsoir la liste Je tente d'installer squid + squidGuard sur une etch amd64 (noyau 2.6.18). j'ai bien noté le changement rewrite_program - url_rewrite_program dans squid.conf mais tous les url_rewrite_children meurent les uns après les autres au démarrage avant de faire disparaître le demon squid lui même. Quelqu'un a déjà rencontré ce problème ? Ou a des lumières sur le fichier squid.conf ? Merci d'avance et bonne nuit... Perte de mes modules
Bonjour ! Voici mon problème: J'ai un système sarge qui ne redémarre presque jamais. Mais au redémarrage, il y a plusieur modules qui ne se charge pas où entre en erreur. je suis obligé de réinstaller le son a chaque fois et celà devrai être pareil pour fglrx. un peu avant, je perdai mon s au clavier 1 x sur 2. Le document est transmi à l'imprimante mais rien ne se passe. J'ai beau scruter les fichiers de config avec mes différentes doc et le net mais je sèche. Bonjour, J'ai installé une Etch pour une amie, avec le bureau Gnome, et j'avais configuré ses barres de menus comme elle le désirait. Pendant les fêtes, plusieurs personnes (dont des enfants, les meilleurs testeurs ;-) s'en sont servi et au final, le bureau Gnome était vérolé : plus aucune barre de menu ni de moyen d'en re-créer ! J'ai donc du effacer/recréer son bureau, mais ne connaissant pas encore tellement Etch, je me demandais s'il existait maintenant un moyen pour sauvegarder cette configuration, et/ou pour la verrouiller et empêcher (peut-être) un même sort que précédemment ? Hjälp med att brygga nätverkskort?
Hallå på er, Hoppas att ni fått en bra start på det nya året? Det har nästan jag fått iaf =) Idag kör jag 3st nätverkskort i servern. 1 för internet och 2 för nätverket. Fungerar rätt ok, förutom att datorerna i det interna nätverket inte fungerar =) Så jag tänkte ge mig på att försöka brygga nätverkskorten för att det skall fungera till 100%. Vill helst undvika att köpa en switch ;) Har koplilerat kärnan för stöd med bryggning och föjt instruktionerna på sidan http://www.faqs.org/docs/Linux-HOWTO/BRIDGE-STP-HOWTO.html men jag får det ändå inte att fungera? Då har jag missuppfattat det hela då? :) Vad är det som gör att mina datorer i nätverket inte kan prata med varandra? Absolut inget fungerar för att få trafik mellan datorerna i nätverket som det är nu. eth0 = internet eth1 = 192.168.1.2 - Dator1 som har ip 192.168.1.3 eth3 = 192.168.2.2 - Dator2 som har ip 192.168.2.3 Dator1 kan prata kanon med servern och Dator 2 likaså. Men ingen trafik mellan Dator1 och Dator2. Så det är inte bridging eller bonding som jag är ute efter då? Tips på hur jag skall ordna till det så att Dator1 och Dator2 kan prata med varanda utan problem? //Kensy

Debian PPC x Mac Old World.
Olá à todos, Meu nome é Emerson e estou tentando migrar do Mac OS para o Linux como sistema de uso cotidiano. Já instalei o Linux algumas vezes (em PCs e Macs), mas ao baixar a última versão (Sarge 3.1r4), não consegui encontrar nos CDs 1 e 2 o programa de boot e os arquivos necessários para o meu micro (Powermac G3 Bege - Old World), que são o BootX, Linux.bin e ramdisk.image.gz. Até dei um jeito: Peguei os arquivos requeridos num CD que tenho do Woody 3.0r3. Por acaso o suporte à Macs Old World está orfão ou coisa similar? Olá pessoal, desculpem não ter respondido. Bom vou detalhar mais o problema, eu estava utilizando o kurumin 4, tenho um monitor de 17'' mas o kurumin estava me dando uma resolução de 1024x768, então utilizei aquele kxconfigure ou algo assim que tem naquele programa clika-aki para aumentar a resolução para 1280x1024. Foi aí que começou o problema de não comutar para o console, a parte gráfica funcionava numa boa, se eu digitasse Ctrl+Alt+Backspace ele restartava o X normalmente, mas se fizesse Ctrl+Alt+Fn ele não saia do X, simplesmente não acontecia nada, mas o X continuava funcionando normalmente, o arquivo /etc/inittab estava perfeito, não cheguei a testar o framebuffer, somente formatei o kurumin e instalei o debian sarge netinst que tinha em casa, tudo está ok agora com o netinst, mas realmente gostaria de saber porque raios isso aconteceu. Bem, a empresa que trabalho adquiriu um Dell Latitude D520, instalei o Debian Sarge com o Kernel 2.6.19 compilado, o problema é que o sistema não reconhece nenhum hardware meu além da placa de rede. Obrigado pela ajuda, continuarei testando configurações quem sabe após colocar funcionando eu não poste o que foi feito nesse portal. Também tentei instalar via repositório e não consegui, daí instalei na unha mesmo compilando ele. E não tive problemas. Bu sunucum bazen elektrik kesildiginde duzgun kapatılmıyor ve baslangıcta yapılan kontrolde hata verip cakılıyor. Benim sunucuda klavye ve monitor olmadıgı için haliye sorun yasıyorum. Controlling mplayer via web interface
Hi, I am using debian sarge (3.1_r2) with a 2.6.19 kernel from kernel.org. On this, I run a selfcompiled DirectFB 1.0.0-rc2 with MPlayer SVN rev. 21804. Playing all kinds of videos works quite well, watching them via the dual head tv-out of my Matrox G450 is just fine. Because my PC doesn't have a monitor or keyboard attached, I want to control the mplayer via a web interface as follows: A perl program runs in the background and starts up mplayer in a pipe. Accepting telnet connections, it can forward given commands via the pipe to mplayer. Before my update vom woody 3.0, this worked well. Now, when I start the perl program, the mplayer seems getting a SIGHUP from a process which I can't identify (PID is new, uid is mine). Running mplayer with the same arguments (as root or as me) works fine. The perl script mdaemon.pl is located at http://shelms.de/linux/mdaemon.pl. Anyone here with ideas? Hi! I am considering getting an (internal) DVD-burner, Samsung SH-S183A, Internal SATA connected. Does anyone have any experience of it? Will it work on Etch with default kernel? 2.6.14-2-386, missing thermal.ko and initrd
Hi everyone and happy new year :) Sometime over the weekend I had a power blip that shut ny debian sarge box down. When i booted it this morning i found this lovely message: Begin: Running /scripts/init-premount ... FATAL: Error inserting fan (/lib/modules/2.6.14-2-386/kernel/drivers/acpi/fan.ko): No such device FATAL: Error inserting thermal (/lib/modules/2.6.14-2-386/kernel/drivers/acpi/thermal.ko): No such device it then leaves me with a simple busy box shell with only what is in the initrd. Now, this machine was up for probly 3-4 months or so before it went down, I have not updated in a while as i dont ever login and use it that often but it has a few cron scripts and nfs shares that are pretty important and i really need to get them back. I think the problem is that when i did last update it, it updated the kernel and told me to reboot asap... ...which i probly just forgot about so when it has come back up it has not had an updated ram disk with these new drivers and cant boot. silly of me i know but its happened and i really need to get this back up asap. Does anyone have a clue of how i can a) boot off a cd and then maybe chroot and create a new ramdisk (not sure this is the best way but the only thing ive thought would work so far) or b) any other ideas are welcome! It does not yet know how to look at source dependencies, but this should be fixed once libapt-pkg-perl exposes the correct interface. For now, you should use grep-dctrl on the /var/lib/apt/lists/*Sources files to deal with this. Kernel 2.6.17 e 2.6.18 K7 network problem
Hi all, I want to ask if somebody experienced the same problem I have with etch installation and in general with kernel 2.6.17 and 2.6.18 on AMD K7. The computer where I tried has 2 network cards, I connect only 1 card and it receives the IP address. I experienced the problem installing etch using a businesscard, using knoppix 5.0.1 (use kernel 2.6.17) and upgrading from sarge (kernel 2.6.8) to etch (kernel 2.6.18). In the last case, with the same installation if I chose kernel 2.6.8 I have no network problem (but X does not work :( ). If I choose the kernel 2.6.18 X is OK but I am not able to reache many sites. I can navigate very few sites example: www.google.com and www.mozilla.org. Using ethereal seems that the HTTP request go out (i.e. GET / ) but the ACK packet does not ask the next packet number in other words seems that the GET request never reched the final site. KDE media:/ failure - Cannot obtain lock on /media/.hal-mtab

I'm trying to setup this media:/ thing under KDE-3.5.5 (Debian testing).
I have the media manager running, and when I plug in my pen-drive I get
a window (Title: Manage Devices and Plugins). I'm absolutely clueless
about this :) What is it for? It contains the device name (sda1), and I
can select a Plugin from a drop-down list {Do not handle, Generic audio
player, Music sharing, Apple iPod media device, etc...}. It has two
buttons [Autodetect Devices] and [Add Device...]. Can someone tell what
can I do with this?
Anyway, my problem is not related to this window, but with the other, in
which I can select what to do with my inserted media. It recognized the
Medium type: Unmounted Removable Medium, and I can choose to Open in
New Window or Do Nothing. I choose open in new window, and then a
new Konqueror window opens, and I get an error message which says:
Cannot obtain lock on /media/.hal-mtab. I noticed that I don't have
the /media directory, so I've created it with failsafe permissions
(777). Now I get a Permissions denied error message... I've googled
for the former error message a bit, but none of the results were in
english :\
Any comments will be appreciated.

kerberos on debian?
Hi, I want to handle users that login to several debian systems in my office, I want to manage the logins into a single system. Additionally, to know when the user login and how long they use their account when they login. I heard that kerberos can do such thing but I don't have any reference how to setup a kerberos in order to handle debian system's login. So, /etc/defaults/snmpd now reads: [code]# This file controls the activity of snmpd and snmptrapd # MIB directories. /usr/share/snmp/mibs is the default, but # including it here avoids some strange problems. export MIBDIRS=/usr/share/snmp/mibs # snmpd control (yes means start daemon). Unable to kill print job
Using Debian with GNOME and CUPS. We had a printer which we
physically uninstalled, but left the queues in place. Then,
accidentally, queued a job for the old printer. Now, we can't
kill the print job from GNOME's print manager tool, which
simply hangs for minutes. Even trying just to close the window
does not make it go away. It need a forced close (presumably
a kill -9).
Do I need to switch to command-line to kill the job?

If you get a grub menu you can edit debian's grub entry pointing it to the correct (to grub) drive for your debian partition. It would be best if you had access to the grub documentation (e.g. the html manual). Finding the right grub drive can be done interactivly from the grub edit functionality but can be arcane without the manual. It involves using the tab key to get grubs list of possibilities. E.g. kernel ( TAB will show the drives grub sees, ditto later for partitions. Don't give up, grub will do it, but find and read the manual. Thanks for the replys guys but i managed to sort this. I used a rescue/install cd from here http://people.debian.org/~jgoerzen/dfs/html/ with a most similar kernel, i mounted proc and sys on my mounted drive then chrooted in and created a new initrd image, rebooted and it was fine. thanks again Edd Parris .'' ` . Hi Reid, I'm running Etch amd64 on my box (Athlon 3800+, Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe MB, 1 GB stick of DDR2 800, dual Seagate Barracuda 80 GB drives, DVD burner, Asus nVidia 7300 GT silent GPU, in a CoolerMaster Stacker case with cross-flow fan, blow-hole fan, three drive modules with 120 mm fans, CM iGreen 600W PSU). I have the MB handle the fan speeds (adjusts for temperature, not for quiet) and most of the time can't hear anything but a slight directional high-pitch from the CPU fan. I just put an ampmeter on it during boot and it uses 1.2 A at 120 V so that's 100W. I note that theres a package to throttle the CPU based on load. I don't know if this reduces the power consumption for what you're looking for. It may primarily just reduce the CPU temperature (although mine hovers at around 40 C).
