Tinc un problema de seguretat ??

2010-11-21 Thread Ferran Juanos

2010-11-21 Thread David BERCOT
Bonjour,

http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/FastStart.html#id2554203

[global]
workgroup = MIDEARTH
netbios name = LUTHIEN
security = share
printcap name = cups
disable spoolss = Yes
show add printer wizard = No
printing = cups
[printers]
comment = All Printers
path = /var/spool/samba
guest ok = Yes
printable = Yes
use client driver = Yes
browseable = No

comprendre...

Qu'en pensez vous?

configurar claws-mail

2010-11-21 Thread ...:::WLADIMIR:::...

No funciona
para revisar mi cuenta de gmail. Es la única cuenta que he probado.

la configuración que tengo es la siguiente:

BÁSICAS
nombre de la cuenta:wladimir@gmail.com
nombre completo: ...:::WLADIMIR:::...

Usar SSl no-bloqueante: Lo he utilizado marcando esta opción y
desmarcando.

AVANZADAS
puerto smtp: 587
puerto imap4:   993

[11:18:48] IMAP4 * OK Gimap ready for requests from 190.20.224.7
d27if9086476yhc.51

incumple RFC)

[11:19:11] IMAP4 Error logging in to imap.googlemail.com

#include stdio.h
#include string.h
#include stdlib.h
#include math.h

#define SDL_Surface surface
#define SDL_Rect rectangle
#include SDL/SDL.h

#include SDL/SDL_image.h
surface *screen;

#include Nautilus_MainScreen.h
#include Nautilus_Keyboard.h
#include Nautilus_Entity.h
#include Nautilus_Surface.h
#include Nautilus_Math_Basic.h

bien o sucedio algun error.

[13:50:41] IMAP4 * OK Gimap ready for requests from 190.20.224.7

Agreed. Both the legacy and the new Grub have the so-called interactive

some related interactive Grub commands that let you do it (it involves

The hd[#,#] doesn't refer to the device type (i.e. scsi disk sda) grub operates
BEFORE the OS and so that doesn't come into play.

If your IDE device is hd[0,#] than your SCSI device is going to be hd[1,#]

Obviously you must substitute the second # with the partition number your Win

 I'm wasting the list's time.

Or maybe you are not interested in getting your problems solved.

There is no much room for your point. It is no difficult to see for
anyone who has been (and still is) working with windows systems (that's
me) a big difference for troubleshooting problems in both, linux an
windows. I mean debugging real problems. Windows logs tell nothing
about the nature of the error and applications are not usually very
verbose.

 What's important to emphasise here is that I'm not an idiot.

And nobody tell that.

 Camaleón, I can tell the difference between a hardware problem and a
 software problem. I fix computers for profit so I know how to
 troubleshoot problems when I have a clear set of symptoms which I can
 isolate and test. Yes, I test my hard drive and RAM so, by the process
 of elimination, the problem *is* the software.

Congrats. For me is very difficult to provide an accurate diagnosis when
hardware problems arise because no logs are being written and you have to
make use of your crystal-ball (if available) and/or your previous
experience. Neither for a newbie nor skilled user is an easy task. You
can get your bdd to crash just for using a ram module not recommended by
the manufacturer of the board or by mixing between two different brands.
And you neither get a memtest warning nor a single line advising you
about this. And this can happen in any OS.

You seem to have concluded that yours is a software problem. Good. I'm
still waiting for a detailed explanation about it, because you want to
solve the issue, right? :-)

Re: can grub on one disk boot OS on another disk?

Well what does the partitioning on the SCSI disk look like?

It's odd for the system to boot into the HDA device using hd[0,#] AND hd[1,#]
even if hd[1,#] was incorrect for the SCSI device, it should give you a can't
find error, devices 0 AND 1 shouldn't work for the same OS in any case.

If we're gonna help you with that we may need to see what you put for the Win
98 entry as well as the partiton structure for your SCSI device

Another member mentioned the command line interface for grub to see what it
sees, I am not certain of this command myself, but have you attempted to
research this or menu.list configurations? What have you found??

I use (hd1,0), it doesn't work
It boot Windows in hda instead
I try by adding

map (hd0) (hd1)

or

map (hd1) (hd0)

Both don't work.

 If your IDE device is hd[0,#] than your SCSI device is going to be hd[1,#]

 Obviously you must substitute the second # with the partition number your Win
 98 OS is on.

What??? Why killall or reboot?

The zombie process don't use any resources in general. No need to reboot
at this point, because nothing is wrong.

On some case, nevertheless, I remember that there can be a kernel
problem, or a device driver one. The process was killed during a
blocking IO, so it is marked as Z until IO finished. If the IO could not
stop, or is on a CPU consuming loop, there is no other way than reboot.

But it's in my old memories, maybe it's not so precise, or obsolete.

be a good idea to remove configuration files of no longer installed
packages. These configuration files and, in particular, udev rules are
not updated if the package is no longer installed but still linger
around. The easiest way to get rid of these removed (but not purged!)
packages is to execute:

# aptitude purge ~c

Please review the list of packages that are going to be purged carefully
as you might not want to remove configuration files for all of them.

If that does not help, we can start to have a look at the specific

Strange.

Also, have you tried with lpadmin? Is the command line utility for
managing printers in Cups.

lpadmin : cannot connect to server

This is on an AMD64 system. Cups was working on a 686 system but the
system recently died so I have lost my print server.

The AMD sys does not have a parallel port so I am trying to get it
working with a USB to Centronics adapter. The adapter is seen by the
system and loads up the hplip module correctly.

I installed the printconf package and, while there are not bugs
reported on the package. I get errors from it.

A google search was only able to come up with the same error (shown
below) but no fix was found. Any suggestions would be appreciated as I
am at a dead end now.

(...)

I would try first to get Cups working as it should, getting a 500 error
is not a good signal. If it's necessary purge the package and reinstall
it again. After that, I'd install the printer by using hpijs or hplip PPD
file, avoinding the use of hplip suite.

Thanks for the reply  Camaleón!

waiting for root file system

2010-11-21 Thread Hugo Vanwoerkom

Hi,

I changed motherboards and now when I boot I get waiting for root file
system.

But the disks have not changed, they are the same ones as with the old
motherboard. All partitions are labelled.

One disk had a USB connection on the old motherboard and now has a SATA
connection.

Fstab and grub use labels for everything.

Debian's stock kernel boots correctly without problems, just my
homegrown kernel doesn't boot, but it booted with the old motherboard.

So there is *something* in my homegrown kernel that causes that message.

Anybody venture a guess as to what it might be?

This is with Sid updated.

IIRC when I first experienced this Cups error, I checked the bug out and
it had been reported but had not been fixed. As I needed to get the
printer working I installed the print server. I had no problems

with the server and promptly forgot about it.

That was also the case on the 685 box. I can't imagine that people
running AMD64 don't have a working cups system.

Cups has always been a PITA, to me, anyway. It required more work after
each upgrade here. I recall many people moving to lpring or

magicfilter so they could avoid the cups problems.

Thanks for the help. I am going to see if I can get lpring or
migicfilter to work so I can get on with my work.

Have a nice day

Then no need to worry about security. Well, _yes_, but no need to be
paranoid and installing and configuring SELinux for a desktop

Keep your system updated with the latest security patches, don't install

So, you have changed not only the board but also the disk interface (it

Maybe now is a good time for you to put your Grub's menu config (either

It was a sata disk in an external enclosure connected with USB, now it
is in the same enclosure but conneceted with SATA cable.

I can't attach files: TB hangs forever then, will register via yahoo!

After 'waiting for root file system' and the 5 minute wait, initrd drops
to a shell and says /dev/dis/by-label/wd80_0jd-60.06 does not exist
and sure enough it don't and that us the new sata connection. So there
is a sata module missing fro initrd.
