Gnus (which runs inside Emacs editor) can have that through its virtual

My version, too, 64-bit. Ditto Wheezy. However, I'm only running a

Per Wikipedia, Linus started writing it in early April of 2005. So well

Ahora si no queres o no sabes programar, usa netcat
man netcat

A mi

It varies. In some cases I've uninstalled it, in other cases I've
modified a config file or three to prevent it from being invoked.

However, I always have trouble remembering which config files I need to
change in order to do that and what the changes need to be, so
uninstalling it is the easier - and probably preferable, as less kludgy
and arguably less radical - solution.

You probably need all the packages that parole have listed as
suggestions:

sug: gnome-codec-install
Package not available

sug: gstreamer0.10-ffmpeg
Package not available

sug: gstreamer0.10-plugins-bad
GStreamer plugins from the "bad" set

sug: gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly
GStreamer plugins from the "ugly" set

Not playing common formats by default is actually an existing bug:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=681276

I'm not sure what the reason is for the -ffmpeg package to be listed as
not available, I would assume you need that too.

Re: Setting up HDRI in ImageMagick

2016-02-19 Thread Thomas Schmitt
Hi,

i tried my proposal on Jessie. After

  ./configure --enable-hdri

i see

Options used to compile and link:
   ...
   CPPFLAGS=   -DMAGICKCORE_HDRI_ENABLE=1
-DMAGICKCORE_QUANTUM_DEPTH=16

while "make" it reports lines like

   CC magick/magick_libMagickCore_6_Q16HDRI_la-histogram.lo

I then run (without "make install"):

  ./utilities/identify | fgrep Features

and get

  Features: Cipher DPC HDRI OpenMP

-

What do you get from the not yet installed binary ?

  ImageMagick-6.9.3-4/utilities/identify

Have a nice day :)

I've had multiple versions of ImageMagick with no issues, as you can
configure them with a different suffix, for example convert-hdr.
That's how you can have different versions of gcc installed, for
example. I'm not sure why the same thing can not be done with
ImageMagick.

Probably modem-manager, part of the Network Manager suite.

But pick one package and send the bug report, if it's the wrong package
then the person dealing with it will know where it should go, and will
re-route it. Quote as much information as you can, especially the
modem model number.

You may get some clues if you open a console and run:

tail -f /var/log/syslog

then plug in the modem. There may be a useful error message among the
log messages. Even if there is not an error message, you have modems
which do work, and you may be able to see what isn't happening with the
faulty one.

You would expect the modem to be recognised initially as a USB storage
device, from which a Windows computer would download the driver, then
the mode of the device should be switched to USB modem. The
usb-modeswitch package does this, and it is possible that the problem
may be in this package, but if so, it's probably still the
modem-manager maintainer who would deal with this.

Hi,
I have seen a bug in Debian sid I guess but I don't know the package having
this bug and as I read on the Debian page to mail this email which I just
did.

I upgraded from Stable to Testing and found out that my ZTE USB Modem
Dongle I use for browsing which used to receive 3G/UTMS network now
receives GPRS not even EDGE. But changing to Huawei it receives back 3G and
another Huawei received GPRS.

Now it's selecting modems, can't use my modem again. Please which package

Cannot play any media file using parole in Debian 8 jessie Xfce edition

2016-02-19 Thread Muntasim-Ul Haque

Hi,
I installed parole media player in Debian 8 jessie Xfce, but couldn't
run it. Then after some digging, I installed gstreamer0.10-plugins-good
package and was able to run parole. But I couldn't play anything using
parole. Every time I open any media file uisng parole, I get the same
error message: "Additional software is required. Parole needs H.264
decoder to play this file. It can be installed automatically."
I click the Install button every time, but that doesn't do anything. How
can I solve this problem?

Thanks.

It sounds like this is the first time you build software on a linux machine.

Did you reall uninstall debian's version first, and then typed "make install"?

Try the command "which identify", which should show something like
"/usr/local/bin/identify" if you have installed it correctly.

There seems to be some confusion with the statements I made. Yes I have
built software from scratch (tar) many times (about 20 yrs experience
with debian). I try to stay away from installing programs that way if at
all possible. I try to use the debian library if at all possible. I have
found that non-debian packages are just too much of a headache most of
the time. I did not install from a tar file or try to install from a tar
file. I used the debian stretch imagemagick.deb file and installed with
aptitude. None of the make commands apply. That said, the identify
function should still work but doesn't show any indication that HDRI
exists. I still need help. How do you switch HDRI on with a standard

Pufff, no me he enterado de nada O:-)

How To Set Up a Capture
https://wiki.wireshark.org/CaptureSetup

I'm fairly sure there were 8 track cartridges which you could play in

Has Ghaith Etaiwi even replied? What's the bet he hasn't subscribed and
thinks he's being ignored, and now has a 'bad' opinion about Debian?

I really think a "reply to list only" policy on a support list is the
final piece de resistance for many frustrated first Debian users.

Depends on what you consider to be 'fast'. Is 120K/s fast?

Wouldn't a torrent file allow a a download that was quite a bit faster than
the 120 K/s?

Bittorrent only helps with a slow server. If the limit is in the
client's bandwidth, then connecting to multiple servers... Hmm. Normal
HTTP streamed from multiple servers shouldn't be much different (That
is, if it takes an hour to download 1GB from one server, it should take
about an hour to download 4 250MB chunks from four servers), but because
bittorrent downloads relatively small chunks, there will be a lot of
setup and tear down of connections, so might actually end up slower.

convingués, mentrestant estant congelat a versió concreta.

You can run top in batch mode, around the interesting interval like
so:

  top -d 10 -b > /tmp/top

(-d is the "display interval" in seconds. Choose a value with sufficient
resolution to "see" what's going on, but not as high as to fill up your
disk).

You can then correlate your top's time stamp with your load graphs
(top writes the current time in the header).

Season to taste :-)
