Si je me réfère à ce vieux post :

Il faut peut-être recompiler ffmpeg en partant des sources (ffmpeg.org) et

Re: Car Audio USB Jacks

2018-07-23 Thread Thomas Schmitt
Hi,

(i reply to Doug's mail but adopt Dan Ritter's new subject text.)

Doug wrote:
> I would make some copies of CDs onto a flash drive, if I knew how!

The act of copying audio data from CD is usually called "ripping".
Program cdda2wav is specialized on that job.

I would use my own program cdrskin (which is mainly for burning data to
CD rather than ripping data from CD). At then of the man page there is an
example:
"Extract audio tracks and CD-TEXT from CD into directory /home/me/my_cd"

  mkdir /home/me/my_cd

  cdrskin -v dev=/dev/sr0 extract_audio_to=/home/me/my_cd \
  cdtext_to_v07t=/home/me/my_cd/cdtext.v07t

This will yield per track NN a file trackNN.wav in directory /home/me/my_cd.
If CD-TEXT is present, then it will be extracted to human readble file
/home/me/my_cd/cdtext.v07t .

> do I have to format the flash drive, and if so with what system?

If the car expects USB sticks, then it probably can handle a (microsoftly)
FAT filesystem.

> I thought that flash drives come formatted with a Windows file system?

They usually do and readers usually are ready to use the filesystem.

More important will be to find out which audio file formats are supported.
.wav is possibly ok, but also quite a wasteful way of storing sound on
a general data storage device.

Format the USB as FAT32 (other FAT variants should work), and add .mp3
files to it. Could not be simpler.

(Other filesystems might be supported, and other audio formats, but
don't count on that.)

There are several CD rippers and mp3 encoders in Debian.

Flash drives may or may not come formatted.

The USB sound input could be:

1. An access to a computer that will treat the USB device as
Mass Storage and try to mount a FAT filesystem

2. Access to a peripheral that acts as a USB Audio device, in
which case you need to supply a computer that can play sound
through that. (Linux knows how.)

Hyundai offers several options, documented here:
https://www.hyundaiusa.com/connectivity/index.aspx

Kia offers options as well:

2 bytes = 16 bit. That's exactly what is prescribed for CD-DA:

The Wine version in Debian Stable is very old and unsupported. You

to which I chose the defaults. It is setup to run a demo on
completion. The demo appears to run correctly. I ran the same
installer on a WinXP machine which appears to run identically.

I have two problems.
On exiting the installer nothing has actually been written to disk

Wine uses a hidden folder ~/.wine as it default location. Did you check
that location?

Second, early in the question asking phase, a message appears on my
console:

$ err:trash:TRASH_MoveFileToBucket Couldn't move file

That is the message that prompted this post.
What is it trying to say?
Is there a catalog of Wine error messages (didn't find one)?

In Wine version 3.12 there isn't such message.
You could read the FAQ, the manual and the forum on winehq.org if you
look for error messages.

Hm. Same for me...

Note that there's no mention of .bcrc in bc's man page...
Neither in bc's info page.

Running under strace I only see it trying to access ~/.inputrc and
~/.terminfo.

It seems you'll have to provide the init file explicitly on the command
line -- or to set the BC_ENV_ARGS. This works for me:

  echo "scale=0" > .my-bc-init-file # choose a better name :-)
  BC_ENV_ARGS=.my-bc-init-file bc

The problem is probably solved with Curt's and Greg's answers, but still to
answer your question: ~/.bcrc is not a default config file for bc (sorry,
didn't think about having it created on my own when I wrote my previous post)
and is only read if you have "BC_ENV_ARGS=~/.bcrc" in your environment or as an
argument to bc on the command line.

as it seems that the network comes up after a reboot at this stage I'd
be inclined to remove and re-install apache2 and hope that the install
sorts it out.

but then I don't know what I'm doing.

It's always an option in my own playbook. It's a last resort one, but
still an option.

I go the additional step to secondarily purge any dependencies that
*might* suddenly become orphaned during a remove/uninstall. Apt-get is
friendly about sharing those.

Newly orphaned packages will be offered up as part of the feedback for
a command such as "apt-get upgrade". I don't how other package
managers handle the same.

That extra step is worth it to me because maybe the problem is with a
dependency package and not necessarily the primary desired one.

Cindy :)

I think i should explain something i did not explain before -

I have an old server that is currently running, it is old and running
Deb 4 , and completely configured to run with our 1 router, server IP,
dhcp, all ports 80, 443, 22, 21 ect ...

The Apache2 issue is on my new server Deb 9.4 which will replace the
old server once it is all configured. At this time the new server is
not configured with the router as i do not believe i can run 2 servers
at the same time on the same network ( or can i ). and i do not want
any interruption with the old server running as it is serving the many
websites and network services needed for my business.

In short i am trying to make a smooth transition.

So perhaps Apache is not starting because my new server is not
configured with our 1 router .. ? maybe ?

I have 1 internet line, and 1 router.

To keep it simple:

The router will dish out Ip address on a given subnet.
So you may have both servers (old, new) connected on the same subnet
without inpacting connections to the old server.

For testing you should read the advice from:

https://www3.ntu.edu.sg/home/ehchua/programming/howto/Apache_HowToConfigure.html#zz-1.

Basically, use the listen directive with only a port above 1024:

listen 8000

Buenas

charlas a workshops o simplemente ir a tomar cerveza y pizza juntas.

In 1972 we were still submitting FORTRAN IV jobs on Hollerith punched
cards, to run on an ICL1901 24-bit mainframe, which half-filled a room
with its fridge-sized chain printer and big card reader and disk drives.

But the electrical engineering department had its own little HP2100A
16-bit minicomputer, with 16k words of 980 ns ferrite core memory. (Very
spiffy stuff, back then.) If you overwrote the punched tape bootloader
in the first dozen words or so of RAM, then you had to load it by hand
from the frontpanel switch register, word by word, in octal.

The three-chip 8080A CPU had become the single-chip 8085 by the time I
programmed it, before moving to the 8051 microcontroller, but sprinkling
13 of 'em in a system, 12 mask programmed, so no coding errors permitted,

My first home CPU was a TMS9900, which like the COSMAC had 16 x 16 bit
registers, but not on-chip. A pointer register set the location of the
register workspace in RAM, so that on interrupt or subroutine call,
changing one register gave a new set of registers instantly. It also had
a barrel shifter, rotating a register any number of bits in a single
instruction, optionally controlled by the 4 LSBs of R0. (Magic for
computing sine and cos by the CORDIC method.) And it had 16x16 multiply
and 32/16 divide.

But the contemporary COSMAC was well ahead of its time - a CMOS CPU in 1976.

Interesting. I started way back when with FORTRAN 66 and APL but I have
moved on to Julia (julialang.org) these days.

No, there shouldn't be a problem. There can't be two DHCP servers in
one network without a lot of faffing about, but it appears neither of
your servers is providing DHCP.

The issue appears to be one of slow network startup. It's still not
completely clear what software is actually setting the IP address on
your server. Being a server, the IP address should be statically set,
not picking up DHCP, and there should be no real need for Network
Manager, if you have that installed. Until we get to the bottom of
this, there will be no progress.

Looks like NM is used:

I believe 20 is the default scale, so your .bcrc might express the principle
of superfluity rather than anything else.

as it seems that the network comes up after a reboot at this stage I'd
be inclined to remove and re-install apache2 and hope that the install
sorts it out.

but then I don't know what I'm doing.

I have 1 internet line, and 1 router.

To keep it simple:

The router will dish out Ip address on a given subnet.
So you may have both servers (old, new) connected on the same subnet
without inpacting connections to the old server.

Don't you have an other router laying around that could be used to
create a small test network (spare router giving an IP address to new
router and one client to test how everything is working).

If you want to keep that new isolated server from the network you can
always asign a fix Ip address to the interface and see how it goes.

NetworkManager will need to be used (I can't help you on that front).

That does not explain though why it is working when you start the
apache2 manually and not at boot; one explanation could be that
NetworkManager is configuring that interface.

$ ip addr show

Hopefully, you are doing the configuration of apache on the new server
from scratch.

I'm not sure about using NetworkManager on a server; I would rather
install Debian with no desktop manager and install webmin or something
similar.
