distribution model, in search of vision
Well accepted 3 variations of Debian is the norm. live CD version is there. When I made the transition to old laptops the wireless adapter was consistently a problem, so I moved to derivatives because I could install them as OS. They have their own strengths and weaknesses. I want Debian back on my stinking old computers installable for sure, rich and no frills. I also want just enough next to assembly codes of select general applications. Is reduction-ism the word for it? Like one additional distribution, worked on and with forever. Or, am I too lazy to keep stepping up? Is there another way to absorb improvements transparently?
Re: debian-user-digest Digest V2017 #824
Hi, just checking at-spi2-registryd CPU 10% cpu rss 5.5MB This line shows at Task Manager yet Synaptic does not find exact name, at-spi2 or close (shorter, without regisytrd) shows up as installed and Synaptic says 'Gnome' related. I have clean install Stretch with LXDE. Did I pull this Gnome helper with some application I added from Debian repository or any other exlanation? Process name might be independent from Program name?
imagemagick
Attn. David Wright Thank you for your help on the issues I encountered. I'll try Aptitude and see if I can refine some removals. I will reinstall the involutarily removed programs and see what happens. I was garbled on the line trying to say: Firefox-ESR apps/pdf helper default position -which I could not get imagemagick to let go, that is why I had to remove the whole imagemagick package from the PC with some domino effect. Regards, H. E.
imagemagick-q16
Dear Debian Users, imagemagick-q16 takes grabs pdf "helper" ay as default position, and when you uninstall it, takesout gnuift and inkscape in synaptic. Are these behaviors warranted somehow?
clamtk freetuxtv lxde-logout, rant for "essential user perspective"
Dear fellow debian users, I am grateful for the efforts that goes into debian gnu/linux. One observation: In this list more users, less email traffic represent scissors graphic and we are there. Let there be hope. Freetuxtv can pass synching channels in jessie. Original support site says it was fixed in version long-time-ago. Where is the log-jam? ClamTK GUI auto-updates invent update ready message, yet never update. Is there another option in the repository with GUI. LXDE panel-logout launcher button on right end of the pannel is lost. Some say because counsel-kit was bumped out by systemd?! As a discussion concluded in a forum on the n-th take, elsewhere (May be some Lubuntu forum on the web). So, against the wonders of scientists this counter-balancing weight has to be dropped on the other scale-pan and may count for users' perspective: "I like state of the art features, pray tell me how do I add again?" :) Best wishes to you all, hec.
Re: Re: Iceweasel Latest update stealing bandwidth uselessly
Greetings, [i turns l IL] ltwa.net has ntg 2do with this. Google is 'helping typo' itwa.net search process and somehow replacing what you type. itwa.net seems blank, but has links to from an aussie forum site. Further work can be done about mate's 7 %. Wireshark may help. I hope it helps noise suppression. Whose baby is iceweasel now, really? I am still reporting like-dislike mozilla help submit feedback, blindly.. Sometimes things are best what we've got, iceweasel debian, google, until we get gnu'ed, and that has its troubles getting there.
