--- Begin Message --- Is sda1 your root partition? You should cc: the debian list on these, so that other people can read them. I'm no expert I Lilo. Why don't you include a copy of your /etc/lilo.conf and the output of running /sbin/lilo in your next mail? That might help. Re: screen 1024x768 desktop 1600x1200
hi Jimmy Richards the solution of the display is 1024x768, but the desktop is 1600x1200 large. you know the desktop is bigger than the screen, so you see only a part of it, if you get up with your mouse, the screen scrolls up, if you go left, down, right, the same procedure... i have your lines you wrote downwards only with 1024x768, which i want to have. first my screen was 1600x1200 and that was to uncomfortable... so i wnted to change it down. first desktop 1600x1200 screen 1600x1200 now desktop 1600x1200 screen 1024x768 i hope soon desktop 1024x768 screen 1024x768 do you know what i mean? thanks for helping me. markus > > > You could do it by editing your /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 file. Re: Soundblaster 16
Thank you bob, i said i dont know whether it works as root, but as user it doesnt. but as the person before you wrote i think it would be possible that this would be(root sound, user no sound) but i dont know anyway, also not how to find out. i tried your lines, but i was unshure what exactly to do. you know, using the suse linux sound worked, but i use now debian because my brother told me it is better, by now i know it is different and more complicated, but i keep trying. thanks for your help Bob Nielsen wrote: > mp3blaster or mpg123 should work for audio.
