If you are interested in a versioneof spice that works on Potato, try to
look at http://ieee.ing.uniroma1.it/ngspice. It is not debianized but
works on Potato.

The second problem I have encountered is in the compilation of magic

the X11 apps. The compiler stops at this point and tells me that -lX11

it is there. I have checked my ld.so and it sees libX11.so. Where
 does my problem lie?

I have compiled Magic 6.5 a few months ago on my Debian system and it
works (8 bpp only). To answer your question: try to add your X
libraries directory path to the CCFLAGS line in the makefile. It should be
something like:

CCFLAGS= . +L/usr/X11R6/lib

i have connected the two HDs on the same ide interface (ide0, primary)

I need to intall Debian 1.3.x on Amiga 1200, so i need info..

I have Debian installed on Pentium (i386 platform), but i have no idea about
 amiga.

I have an Amiga 1200 with an IDE 240 HD, PCMCIA SCSI, IDE Cd-ROM...

  Can anybody help me

  Thanks.

Well, the major problem with Amiga is the lack of an MMU (Memory
Management Unit) in most models and, as far as i know, Linux needs an MMU
to work. The Motorola 68020, which is the CPU of the basic A1200, does not
contain an MMU making installing Linux impossible.

Re: fvwm-audio

1997-05-02 Thread Paolo Nenzi

Fvwm-Audio associates sounds to a certain number of events: you can make
your Linux Box play a sound when the fvwm starts, when a window opens, and
so on ..

 Hi.

I was wondering what the fvwm-audio module does... I have searched my

 Hi listers,
I would love to hear from someone who is using the Epson Stylus 600 or 800
 with their Debian box.

I have an Epson Stylus 800 connected to my PC running Debian Linux, and it
works. I use enscript and apsfilter for ordinary printing and they produce
a satsfactory output (though i had to redefine the a4 page format in
enscript configuration file).

By the way i do not know anything of the Stylus 600.

Now knowing anything at the moment about hooking a printer to my box is a
 little intimidating

I agree, it's a little bit more complex than connecting it to a windows
box. As always: keep calm, read manuals and write down each step you make.
