Re: Esperanto
There's no need to hurl abuse. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esperanto "Zamenhof's goal was to create an easy to learn and politically neutral language that would serve as a universal second language to foster peace and international understanding... There is controversy over the number of people who are fluent in Esperanto, with estimates ranging from 10,000 to as high as two million." So it is a secondary language. Everybody who speaks it speaks another, primary, language. Isn't it redundant to have a special mailing list for a group of people who may be as small as 10,000 worldwide, all of whom speak another, major, language? You seem upset that I would ask. I hope you don't mistakenly think I meant Spanish. --- On Tue, 4/27/10, Robert P. J. Day wrote: > From: Robert P. J. Re: Tv card
So, about that TV card! I realize this isn't strictly a Debian-related question, as I use Ubuntu on my HTPC, but I'm sure it is the same on a Debian system. Is there an easy way to get the machine to autodetect my antenna? Is there a command to get it to output the name of the device? (The jacks for the antenna are built into my Nvidia graphics card.) Better yet, use Knoppix. Or wait a couple days for the new one. http://knopper.net/knoppix/index-old-en.html Easiest and best Debian available. You're right, though. It's like M$ trying to push 3.1 because it's so old all the bugs have finally been worked out, and it's so "stable"... Many people would call that "obsolete." --- Jim Woodward <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > I suggest you install sarge and immediately > thereafter install kernel 2.6.5 > "Trollcollect" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote in > message > news:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Hello list, > > > > after 3 days of twiddling with a "recent" copy of > > debians woody release i need to vent a bit of the > > anger and frustration that this distribution has > > caused. > > > > I want to start with saying that i was a strong > > advocate of debian compared to distributions such > as > > RedHat and SuSE. kphone
Does anybody out there know how to use kphone? For instance, how do I know what my "User Part of SIP url" is, or the host part? And how do I call someone on their home phone (they say you can!)? Any help whatsoever would be appreciated. Thanks Art __ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? It's called a joke, dumbass. Not everything revolves around the United States, or the small minority of its citzens who are idiots, such as yourself. Hey Trevor, don't listen to us. I'm a true believer, and this other guy's a retard. I think you better put something else in your assignment. --- "Joyce, Matthew" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > > > -Original Message- > > From: Thomas Pomber [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Sent: Friday, 24 October 2003 11:03 AM > > To: trevor brooks; [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > Subject: Re: please read this > > > > > > --- trevor brooks <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > wrote: > > > > > > > > > Hi my name is Trevor Brooks. You are helping open-source software, which Microsoft and its dreaded, evil, king, Bill Gates hates. A newbie's confusion about BS
Okay, I'm out. I got too many weirdos emailing me about my dick. Who are these people? Leave me alone! Besides, everybody's picking on the Americans, and that's way too cliche. What are you, jealous? I just feel sorry for them, because they're starting to believe their own BS and are allowing their government to behave like arrogant idiots. Of course Canada is worse (commies), but you still have to call a spade a spade once in a while. Anybody know how to configure the network settings for Xmule? Do I use a text editor, or what? __ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]
Re: A newbie's confusion about GPL (BS)
Fuck off! Are you serious? Do you think you've got a bigger dick than me, too, just because you're an American? I was talking to this electrician who just relocated here to Canada from Russia, and I was blown away when he told me that they didn't brainwash their people in The Commie Days half as much as the US does today. Yeah right, I said! But he said that they never had movies where the Americans were depicted as ignorant morons like you guys do. Anyway, to make a long story short, the guy's got a point. If you, as an individual, want to remain ignorant, that's up to you. But don't criticize us for having the courage to think beyond what they tell us on the American news. And it's not about any of that European bullshit either. It's about what's true, and what's right. All of you've seen is us holding back, cause the TV crew is looking.I was on a plane to Cali, sitting next to a guy going to Ft. Pendleton. He was in PsOps -- told me some great stories. One was about Somalia. All you heard on TV was the American getting dragged through the streets. You didn't hear about the next day, when we went in to get some payback: guy told me we fired so many shots, the soldiers gun barrels melted. Killed about 200 civies for payback.Another guy told me the true story abo ut the first gulf war: on TV, you saw pictures of Iraqis surrendering to TV crews. In the radio room, my friend told me stories of Iraqis walking out of bunkers only to be gunned down. So, if you want to get all pissed off, get REALLY pissed off, cause the truth is 500 times worse than your theories, but don't be mistaken that what's going on Iraq is because we couldn't massacre the fuck out of them. We're holding back, trying to be nice. The whole European "we've evolved beyond war" is an illusion - I can't wait for the next good war you get yourselves into. It'll happen. And I'll be there calling you a baby killer.-- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]Post your free ad now! Yahoo! Re: A newbie's confusion about GPL (BS)
Two-cents-worth from Canada: It's nice being a Canadian because you get a little bit of variety in the propaganda you're exposed to, which lends itself to a more well-rounded brainwashing. You get to pick what bullshit you are going to believe. We sympathize for our brothers in the States who don't have this. If there's a war, you have this thing where all debate is shut down - supposedly to support the troops. But you are being played. There was nothing virtuous or honorable about the war in Iraq. It was a really big guy (the US) picking on a little guy (Iraq). Whether or not Saddam is an asshole is beside the point. Anybody who supports Bush on Iraq is asking their leaders to lie. This thing in Iraq is worse for you than it is for Iraq because you guys - the torch-bearers for freedom and democracy - are selling out that which made you great. And you would prefer to believe your government's BS than think for yourselves. It's pretty sad, really. And the way you permit your President to lie to the entire world (including yourselves) is shameful. In one day, you threw all the integrity and respect you had out the window - and in the name of blind patriotism you believed the lie. But I suspect American feelings about their military might are over-rated. For instance, if they gave a shit, China would kick your ass in a war. America has become a bully. And pride comes before a fall. csj <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: On Mon, 20 Oct 2003 17:45:48 +0800,David Palmer. wrote:[...]> What started the inciting were bombs dropped on Bin Laden and> his Taliban. Does anyone know how to...
fix the network settings for Xmule so that it will work properly? I'm running linux out of my xbox using Ed's Debian, which comes with Xmule pre-installed. But it doesn't download. I tried editing the binary file, but it was a weird-looking squiggles.Post your free ad now! Yahoo! Canada Personals
