Re: cdrecord problems

I had issues untill i changed the access to /dev/scd0, you need access to
both scd0 and sr0 for most applications.

As I wrote in first mail, my /dev/cdrom is symlinked to /dev/sr0 and CD
access works fine. So I think scsi emulation is working.
 Where can be the problem?

 Hi All !

When newbies ask something, they are often asked to RTFM...

But where do I find the Information ? Very often, neiter #man foo nor
the contents of the /usr/doc/foo are very helpful. Where is aditional
documentation usually installed ? Or do you know a good
getting-documentation-howto ? (maybe even something in german.. would
 be nice)

 Thx

 Martin

PS: Merry Christmas to all of you !

In my limited experience, it works fine with 2.95-compiled C libraries,
but
not C++ ones. Those you need to rebuild.

Subject: ssh session doesn't terminate until programs are closed

 Hello,

I was wondering about an ssh session not closing until all the programs
started in it are closed. How can I change this behaviour? Or maybe
better, how can I modify my program to not be one of the programs it
waits for? (Currently I fork() once and only the child branch continues.
This does look like it backgrounds the program fine...)

 Thanks,
 Hugo van der Merwe

Subject: cdrecord problems

 Hi,
I'm out of ideas, so I need Your help. I'm trying to write some files to
CD-RW, but without success. :-( I'm using Debian Woody (daily updated),
with custom kernel 2.4.16 (enabled scsi emulation, reiserfs, ext3). I
tried everything I found in CD-Writing howto, but still no good. Only
few Kb gets on CD. Dummy mode is off. Funny is, that I can do fast-erase
of CD-RW disk. Full-erase freezes whole Gnome. :-(
 Can someone help?

 Thanks

 Patrik
