To be clear on this, your full command is
lp -h printserver -d
and the IP of printserver is resolvable?

Please post the output of 'lpstat -a' when the command is run on
serverA and printserver. The CUPS versions on serverA, printserver
and remoteserver01 would also be useful to know. The can be got
from 'dpkg -l | grep cups'.
