Joao Clemente Answering to myself: I needed to put acpi=on in grub kernel configuration to activate the acpi kernel support (wich then provides me a /proc/acpi ) Strange... Maybe everyone is switching to 2.6.x and these things go unnotisted... I had searhed the mailing lists with no result... Well, I hope this still helps someone!
