Iceweasel run-lock stuck
Dear Debianistas, Up to date Wheezy, I can't start Iceweasel. Every time I try it gives an error, Iceseasel is already running and not responding. Stop the existing session or reboot. Trouble is, there isn't any running Iceweasel, and I just started the machine. Logging in as another user, Iceweasel works just fine. At this point, I assume that the run-lock file has been stuck on, and when started Iceweasel sees this lock file and quits. I did find . -name *lock* -print but there was no file that looked anything like an Iceweasel, Firefox, or Mozilla, lock file. Any ideas? Thank you. Re: Iceweasel run-lock stuck
I'm using Mozillas with Linux for around 10 years and this was a common bug all the times. If it shouldn't disappear after a reboot, than $ mv ~/.mozilla ~/.mozilla.old That's it. I didn't experienced this issues within the last years myself, but I'm using Firefox, not Iceweasel. I experienced Iceweasel causing much more trouble than Firefox. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Since I didn't experienced this error within the last years, I wasn't aware about a lock file. Thank you for the much better hint. Btw. that's why I recommended mv instead of rm, I even wasn't aware if inside /.mozilla the folder is called /firefox or /iceweasel. /xx.default or any other profile ;). -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-user-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe.
