Hello, Hier soir, je me suis relancé dans ma quête de compiz et c'est aux environs de 2h que ce dernier a fonctionné. Je n'ai pas eu trop de problème pour en arriver là. Partant du fait que les derniers drivers propriétaires étaient bien installés, il m'a fallu activer l'AIGLX et le Composite dans le xorg.conf. Un redémarrage et un coup d'œil dans le Xorg.0.log m'ont apprit que l'AIGLX était actif. J'ai alors corrigé mon erreur dans le référencement du dépôt de tuxfamily pour le faire pointer sur sid et non lenny (d'où mon problème avec la lib libwnck18 qui n'existe plus dans sid). L'installation de compiz-fusion a pu se faire. J'ai constaté une erreur lors du démarrage de ce dernier ($ compiz.real --replace) concernant du GLX non dispo. J'ai appris sur un forum que les drivers ATI fonctionnaient mal avec xserver-xorg-core à la version 1.4. J'ai downgradé ce package en 1.3 et après un démarrage de compiz fusion icon, tout a roulé. Bilan, c'est amusant mais pas encore très stable ... Par moment des menus contectuels s'affichent vides, la barre des tâches cafouillent lorsque l'on joue trop avec les changements de bureaux virtuels. Il y a de nombreux lags, on ne voit par moment que la fin de certains effets. Par contre, j'aime bien la neige sur le bureau à l'approche de Noël :) Je suis donc arrivé à mes fins, çà fonctionne mais avec pas mal de difficultés, il faut espérer que çà changera avec la future version du driver ATI. Je viens rapidement de mettre Ubuntu sur mon portable (en dual boot, à la place de XP), et ça ne donne rien de plus. Visiblement, avec ATI, c'est pas trop ça... En gros, j'ai maintenant à peu près la même version que toi sans : Section ServerFlags Option AIGLX off EndSection OK. Ca, ça marche aussi : [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~$ glxinfo | grep direct direct rendering: Yes Si je me rappelle bien, pour faire tourner compiz, il faut utiliser le driver libre plutôt que fglrx. Ben je ne sais pas, mais là, je n'y arrive vraiment pas... Quand je lance fusion-icon, je n'ai pas de titre de fenêtre (bien que j'ai coché l'option décoration des fenêtres), et si je lance un compiz --replace en ligne de commande, j'ai un joli : compiz (core) - Fatal: GLX_EXT_texture_from_pixmap is missing compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0 compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0 Même en rajoutant Option AllowGLXWithComposite true ça ne change rien... Bref, je commence vraiment à me demander si ça peut marcher correctement sur ma machine... J'ai mis un Ubuntu sur un autre poste (avec une NVidia 6600 je crois), et Compiz tourne aux petits oignons... Merci d'avance. David. Chez moi ça fonctionne en dual-screen avec une Radeon RV100 et driver libre (jamais réussi avec le proprio). I have found that it is better to stick to the open source ati drivers, they even tend top work better than the ones provided by the ati site. Necesito ayuda para instalar los drivers para la tarjeta. He mirado en el google pero todo lo que encuentro está en inglés y no lo entiendo . Tego instalada una debian testing. Ahora mismo esta configurada como vesa pero al intentar ver videos o tv no puedo verlos a pantalla completa. Me han dicho que es porque no esta bien configurada la tarjeta. Para que ele volte a alterar o arquivo, basta usar a série de comandos a seguir: cp /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /etc/X11/XF86Config-4.custom md5sum /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 /var/lib/xfree86/XF86Config-4.md5sum dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 (Isso está no próprio XF86Config-4, na parte comentada no começo.) Caro Tiago, tenho que te dar os parabéns. A tua solução funcionou e neste momento tenho modo gráfico com a driver vesa e o ecrân em 640x480. Penso que o passo seguinte será aumentar a resolução do ecrân. Posso fazê-lo em modo gráfico ou tenho que utilizar o dkpg-reconfigure na consola? Se tiver que utilizar a drive vesa em vês de uma específica para a ATI Radeon X600, não será grave, porque não utilizo jogos nem aplicações que exijam grandes recursos gráficos. Um abraço. Olá: Estou a ainiciar-me no linux e tenho tido alguns problemas com várias distribuições. Decidi experimentar a Debian 3.1 e a instalação correu bem, mas não consigo ter modo gráfico. O sistema de janelas X não corre. Pela experiência que tive com a Suse e a Fedora, penso que será um problema da placa gáfica: é uma ATI Radeon X600. Sabem como configurá-la? Obrigado. Já tentei o que disse mas não resultou. dpkg-reconfigure xserver deu como mensagem de erro que não estava instalado. xf86cfg -textmode: configurei a placa gráfica como ati. Para o monitor introduzi as gamas de frequência horizontal (30-72 kHz) e vertical (50-130Hz). Tenho um CTX PL7 (CRT). Quando inicio o sistema X, aparece na consola a mensagem no screen found. Não será necessário instalar drivers específicas para a ATI Radeon X600? Cumprimentos. Obrigado Moisés. Usei dpkg-reconfigure xserver-xfree86 e desta vez o programa correu, mas continuo sem modo gráfico. Corri também novamente o f86cfg -textmode e escolhi vesa na placa gráfica, mas sem sucesso. Disse-me para reportar o erro na lista. A lista é esta? Há algum procedimento para reportar erros? Olá João. Bem vindo! Reportar o erro na lista é simplesmente mandar para esta lista (debian-user-portuguese), para que possamos ver qual é o problema. O xfree86 gera um extenso log, em /var/log/XFree86.log (ou um nome muito parecido com isso), que muitas vezes permite descobrir porque ele não funcionou. Mande ele para nós que tentaremos entender. Mas antes tente você mesmo: no começo tem as indicações: (II) marca informações, e (EE) erros, se não me engano. Procure os erros, e se não entender mande para cá. Hi: I´m starting with Linux and just installed Debian 3.1 but I don't have graphical mode. I think the problem is the graphic card, it is an ATI Radeon X600. Having it as a module and loading it before starting X (e.g. via /etc/modules) should work too... I used the ati driver in xf86config but it's not recognising it as you can see... ATI do have an X11 4.3 driver on their site, but it's a lovely RPM binary and Alien fails to install it saying: dpkg: error processing fglrx_4.3.0-4.14_i386.deb (--install): trying to overwrite `/usr/X11R6/lib/libGL.so.1.2', which is also in package xlibmesa-gl The fglrx package *will* overwrite the GL stuff - apparantly they do hardware accelleration of it, whereas the generic VESA one doesn't. If you don't need the old vesa one, you could: dpkg --force-overwrite --install fglrx_4.3.0-4.14_i386.deb (you probably have to convert it to a .deb first and then install separately) Hope this helps -- Karl E. ATI's official drivers (proprietary) do not yet support their PCIE products; neither does XFree86 (as far as I was able to tell). My solution was to install x.org from source; this may work for you as well (no 3d support, but 2d works quite well). Hi all I've just got a lovely new beastie which has a PCI-Express Asus Radeon X600 in it... Running Sarge 2.6.8-1.i386 and XF86 4.3.0.1, P4 530, 512MB, 80GB SATA drive etc etc.. However, on running XF86, I am getting the following error: (II) Primary Device is: PCI 01:00:0 (II) ATI: Candidate Device section Generic Video Card. (WW) ATI: PCI Mach64 in slot 1:0:1 could not be detected! (WW) ATI: PCI/AGP Mach64 in slot 1:0:0 could not be detected! (EE) No devices detected.
