I think you need to recompile the kernel with IP_FORWARDING enabled.

Hey, Linux is a real operating system with lots of options. When you step
out on the edge, you have to start reading and hacking. That's what adds
spice to life :-)

Use "dselect" and install the kernel source to match the kernel you are
running. It is 6MB+ so it will take some time to download.

There is a document in /usr/doc/HOWTO that tells you how to compile the kernel.

Hexedit is *NOT* possible because the IP_FORWARD option adds 5K to the
kernel size.

I had this problem and solved it by compiling the kernel with the
CONFIG_IP_FORWARD option turned on.

Righto! linux treats you as a knowledgeable person, not some idiot who
does'nt know how to use an OS.

Because ISP's can not afford to train their tech support staff on how to
set up systems running Linux.

If I was in charge of the world, things would be a lot better (for me).

I disagree... Why make it easier? I use Linux for 2 weeks now. I used Dos
and windows for 8 years before. You want to know why I switched to Linux?
Because Win95 was boring. I think what makes Linux be Linux is the fact
that it's not very user friendly if you compare it to Win95. The nore it's
hard to make a Linux box running as you want, the more you learn.
Personnally I love to learn. I love to read HOW-TOs and Documents to LEARN
how to make what I want to make. I don't want it to be easier. I want to
continue to work hard to do what I want to... It's the beauty of OSs like
Linux.

As you can notice, english is not my mother language so, please, be
indulgent.
