 Definitely start by checking the iso. I have a similar system that I
 installed Wheezy over a local network and it went without a hitch. After
 that, make sure you have a solid connection (you mentioned remote but
 didn't say if it was to another physical locale or within the same
 area). Do you know how far it gets before hanging up (do you get any of
 the installation screens or does it just time out and lock up)?

Definitely start by checking the iso. I have a similar system that I
installed Wheezy over a local network and it went without a hitch. After
that, make sure you have a solid connection (you mentioned remote but
didn't say if it was to another physical locale or within the same
area). Do you know how far it gets before hanging up (do you get any of
the installation screens or does it just time out and lock up)?
