Im syslog kommt folgender Hinweis: Sep 23 06:44:48 Syrianus fetchmail[3687]: SMTP connect to localhost failed Das passiert nach dem Login bei meinem Mailprovider beim Abholen der ersten Nachricht. Fetchmail scheint richtig zu funktionieren. Bloß exim will wohl nicht so richtig. Bis vor kurzem liefen die beiden noch wunderbar zusammen. Ich denke nachdem ich auf meinem System (testing) das letzte größere update eingespielt habe will das nicht mehr so recht. Wäre schön wenn mir jemand helfen könnte oder ne Idee hat woran das liegen kann. läuft denn exim überhaupt, was sagt ein telnet localhost 25 ? Hallo Liste, ich denke ich hab das Problem ausmachen können. Ich hatte Xinetd installiert aber das Paket übernimmt wohl zur Zeit nicht automatisch die Einstellungen aus inetd.conf. Deshalb war es bei mir auch als broken gekennzeichnet. Nachdem ich es nun deinstalliert habe läuft die Zusammenarbeit zwischen exim und fetchmail wieder zur vollsten Zufriedenheit. Wie du schon schreibst, aus irgendwelchen Gründen akzeptiert exim offenbar keine E-Mails mehr. Speicere dir eine Kopie von der vorhandenen exim.con und führe sodann eximconfig noch mal aus. Hello, 2.2r4 ships with 2.2.19 as the default kernel version, but I d/l the 2.4.16 source tarball and compile it. As yet, everything is just ok under 2.4.16, but I failed to connect to localhost, which is so weird to me. Did I miss something? -- Patrick Hsieh [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello list, I have a Debian 2.2r4 running 2.4.16. Everything is fine, but I fail to connect to localhost. Then network configuration is ok, since it can communicate to the internet. But when I type: ethome:~# telnet localhost 25 Trying 127.0.0.1... The connection hangs for a while, but I am sure the smtp daemon is ok because incoming connections are alive. This problem exists on all localhost connections. This is weird because I DO have a lo device: ethome:~# ifconfig lo loLink encap:Local Loopback UP LOOPBACK RUNNING MTU:16436 Metric:1 RX packets:12 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:12 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:0 RX bytes:3936 (3.8 Kb) TX bytes:3936 (3.8 Kb) ideas? -- Patrick Hsieh [EMAIL PROTECTED]
