Looking for a new maintainer for ap-utils. I don't use it a great deal
and there must be people who are more interested in this kind of thing
to maintain it. There's a new upstream version at http://ap-utils.polesye.net/
which may fix some outstanding endian/64-bit problems, or then again,
may not. Upstream is highly responsive and helpful, not a stressful
package to maintain.

Regards,
Rob

Severity: wishlist

* Package name: eclipse-cdt
  Version : 1.1
  Upstream Author : The CDT project at eclipse.org
* URL : http://www.eclipse.org/cdt/
* License : Common Public License v1.0
  Description : C(++) Development Tools for Eclipse

 A set of plug-ins for eclipse that implement a C/C++ IDE.
 .
 It adds a C/C++ Perspective to the Eclipse Workbench that
 supports C/C++ development with a number of views, wizards,
 a powerful editor, and a debugger.

As I'm more a java guy (it's a C IDE written in java), I would like
to have someone testing the functionality. I will drop a mail with
the apt repository, when I'm ready with packaging...

As I'm not a DD yet, this packages will need a sponsor. I hope
Takashi Okamoto will do that (he is currently sponsoring my eclipse
packages), but I haven't asked yet :)

 wmSpaceWeather provides a monitor on a 64x64 mini window that displays
 the two relativistic electron and 3 relativistic proton flux levels at
 geosynchronous orbit, currently from the NOAA GOES spacecraft, current
 Solar Flare X-ray flux, and the last 8 3-hour Kp index values.
 .
 wmSpaceWeather is designed to work with the WindowMaker dock, but will
 work with other window managers as well.

I don't use wmspaceweather anymore, if someone is interested in taking
this package over, please let me know. Note that wmspaceweather has no
active upstream maintainer, you may consider taking over upstream
development, too. This is a simple package, currently without any open
bug reports. It's written in C and in Perl, the code is somewhat messy,
but easy to understand.

Bug#195313: ITP: libopenhbci-plugin-ddvcard -- DDV Chipcard Plugin for libopenhbci

  Upstream Authors:
Fabian Kaiser <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>

Christian Stimming <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>
* URL : http://www.openhbci.de/

  Description : DDV Chipcard Plugin for libopenhbci
This plugin for libopenhbci enables libopenhbci to work with ddv
HBCI chipcards (i.e. most cards save rsa). See libopenhbci and/or
libchipcard for further details and check with chipcard-tools'
"hbcicard type" whether you need this.

Supplementary Information:
- Many users of libopenhbci (e.g. via gnucash-hbci or aqmoney (to be
  packaged)) will need this plugin which was split from libopenhbci.
- I'm presently maintaining the libchipcard package.
- I've checked with James, the libopenhbci debian maintainer about this ITP.
  (As libchipcard is rather closely related with libopenhbci and I'm
   heavily using it, we're coordinating anyway.)

As you are neither a programmer in the relevant language, a user of the
software, or a Debian developer, are you certain you wish to package this
software?

Not being a DD is a fairly minor detail - I have filed ITPs myself without
being a developer - but I believe it is generally a good idea to use software
-before- packaging it... Unusable packages do far more harm than good, and I
can see how this could easily become such a case.

Just a suggestion...

I'd be willing to test it, and if I really like Eclipse, I'd be happy
to even be the co-maintainer after I upgrade to unstable, so if he
needs help he can come to me.
